How beautiful are the Pinays?

One of my past time is flickr surfing, flickr never fails to amaze me. Check out zchendevlemh tribute to the pinay beauty in her pinay photoset. Well there are criticisms that they are friendster rip offs but you got to agree with me that they are still beautiful (although some are bordering into girls in bikinis 🙂 I got this from the Pilipinas Flickr group — Thanks! By the way, if you are into fashion photography zchendevlemh has tons of sets on other beautiful women and you can learn from the poses and lighting impact. I’ve subscribed to her photostream.

UPDATE: (10/27/05) Due to the controversial nature of the source of the picture, I decided to remove it. Anton

If you have not realized that “The World is Flat”, your missing on the most influential concept in modern history.

This is the Bible of IT in our company and if you are in the IT field, this is a must read for you. I’m trying to read the hard bound book but, there is a video speech published in MIT. I’m glad the MIT is leading the globe in free and open course materials via their OPENCOURSEWARE initiative. No need to pay that expensive tuition fee 🙂 Thanks to Aldrin for the MIT lead, I’m downloading the video now.

Pinoy 2.0 Meme-Map

These meme maps were started by Tim O’reilley What is Web 2.0 meme-map and Peter Forret started to develop a meme-map generator. Here is the link to the Meme-Map Generator. This is a “draft” blue-print of the game plan to develop the next generation of Filipinos who would become the next superpower in the knowledge driven global economy. I know its quite heavy but I started to think how I will bring up my son Aidan to help the Philippines in the future. Maybe you can help me out with this and let me know if you have ideas in mind on how we can develop the Pinoy 2.0.

Is Rommel Indaflor-Brass the First Pinoy to ever climb Mount Everest?

In one of my Romi Garduce’s post in climbing Mt. Everest, there was a pinoy_kiwi person who left a comment on my blog that Rommel Indaflor-Brass first climbed Mt. Everest last April 21, 2003. He is a half-Filipino half-NZealander and the anonymous comment was originated from New Zealand. We checked in with Mt. Everest Authorities and Jeevan ([email protected]) confirmed that there has been NO Filipino yet that has climbed the great mountain. I’ve googled the person’s name but apparently no luck as well. So as a last ditch of effort, I’m creating a post here as a cry for help to whoever has information and who can verify Rommel Indaflor-Brass achievement. The intent is to give credit where credit is due and so that when Romi climbed Everest next year, we can properly claim it as probably the first natural born Filipino to ever climbed Everest.

Som’s Noodle House – cheap authentic version of SukhoThai

VS.

The Secret is Out :) Cheap Thai Food!

Here is another best kept thai cuisine secret for all those food adventurers out there. This time, this is a hawker style (just along the road- turo turo in short) place, where it serves sukho-thai food at a very cheap price! I’m really a food adventurer and sometimes I’m criticized for only trying the expensive ones (so here’s a cheap find for you). The food is cooked or supervised by a retired Sukhothai Chef who is a thai and has a family here in Makati. Som is the name of the grand daughter of the Chef. I’ve decided to check out Som’s Noddle House instead of going to the World’s longest dinner buffet in Eastwood (and the World’s most unsatisfied guests – I’m glad 🙂 Then, the next day, I also checked out SukhoThai in Megamall which is one of our favorites but we heard that it will be closing shop soon (hopefully just a rumor). Here is a blow by blow boxing match between Som’s Noodle House vs. Sukho-Thai before you even try to check this one out.

Hierarchy of a Technology Freak

As I was taking a picture of all my travel gadgets and writing my inaugural post in litratista.org about Photo Backup, I was scared that I was a gadget technofreak but I also realized that there is a higher level that one transcends to. You realize the essence of technology and suddenly, I had an epiphany on modern technology. Based on my corporate experience and own technology adoption, here are the hierarchy of Technology Freak:

Hierarchy of a Technology Freak
1. Dinosaurs
2. Practical Tech Consumer
3. Early Adopters
