Subic Water Park Hopping: Inflatable Island • Adventure Beach • Aqua Planet

I surprised the boys with a memorable water park hopping adventure in Subic this summer.  Aqua Planet and Adventure Beach Waterpark opened this summer, and Inflatable Island is now bigger.

We also found the best place to stay in Subic with a nice infinity pool and suite rooms with international standards at Best Western Plus Subic.

Here is how to organize your own water park escapade:

First Things First

Subic Water Park Hopping-20.jpg

We found our favorite place to stay in Subic because of the roof deck infinity pool with a nice sunset vantage point.

Subic Water Park Hopping-19.jpg

We love that there is a separate pool area where you can hang out with the little ones.

We stayed at the 3-bedroom Suite Room #500 which is on the same floor as the pool on the fifth floor.

KAM’S Roast Goose(Hong Kong): Better than Yat Lok or Yun Kee?

Related blog post: Kam’s Roast in Manila: How Does it Compare to HK?

Kam’s Roast Goose is a Cantonese style BBQ restaurant in the heart of Wan Chai Hong Kong. The establishment has won numerous awards for excellence and quality and was awarded its first Michelin Star in 2014.

The busy restaurant sells around 100 geese per day that are shipped in daily from China and prepared in-house each morning.

Kam’s only uses Black Headed Geese which are 2.8-2.9 kilos each.  The relatively small geese are leaner and much tastier when compared to their more common counterparts.

The key to Kam’s success is that the geese are prepared using the freshest of ingredients and prepared with a tried-and-true recipe that has been handed down for generations.

Ask anybody in Hong Kong where to find the best goose and they will tell you Kam’s is the place to go.

Kams7Hardy Kam is the founder of Kam’s Roast Goose and 3rd generation restaurateur of the Kam Family. His grandfather Mr. Kam Shui Fai and father, Mr. Kam Kinsen Kwan founded the internationally acclaimed Yung Kee Restaurant in Central Hong Kong.

Hardy branched out to open Kam’s Roast Goose in 2014 and was awarded his first Michelin Star soon after, only having been operational for 4 months.

Hardy claims his success stems from running a small-scale operation and preserving the legacy that his family started. Quality ingredients and traditional Cantonese techniques, along with his hands on approach ensure customers have a pleasant experience and a delicious meal.

MAI WEI FANG: Chinese Northern Style Bread and Sheng Jian Bao!

MAI WEI FANG meaning wheat mill room is a fast-casual Chinese restaurant serving Northern Chinese style dishes that mainly focus on wheat flour ingredients.

Famed for introducing the first Sheng Jian Bao (pan-fried pork soup dumpling) in the Philippines, this Shanghainese version is similar to Xiao Long Bao but is much meatier with a thicker dough compared to its counterpart.

Besides Sheng Jian Bao, you’ll also find Chinese-style pancakes, doughnuts, and fried chicken rice meals.

If you’re curious to get a taste of something different, check out Mai Wei Fang…
