Buca di Beppo Family Celebrations in Manila!

Buca di Peppo-41.jpg

The first time I tried Buca di Beppo was on my first trip to Cincinnati during my P&G Days. I remember enjoying the pizza and pasta in a very festive environment. After more than 100 stores worldwide, this popular Italian restaurant chain in America has finally opened its first store in Southeast Asia–in Manila, no less–thanks to entrepreneur Marcelino Florete Jr. of the Sbarro group.

The name is inspired by the original 1993 Italian restaurant in the basement of an apartment building in Minneapolis. Buca means "hole" or the Tuscan slang for basement, while Beppo is a nickname for Guiseppe, which is Joseph in Northern Italy.

Here's what to expect and how to plan your own family celebrations at Buca di Beppo in Manila…

Two Awesome Day at The Lind Boracay -102.jpg

LANTERNA is the bed & breakfast and private restaurant of Italian Chef Luigi and his wife Gladis Barbolla on the island of Boracay. Chef Luigi was actually one of the first Italians to settle in Boracay in the early 80’s and is regarded to this day as one of the island’s best chefs in his native cuisine. The private home dining restaurant serves Italian home cooking with everything made from scratch using sustainable ingredients.

It is considered as a best kept secret among locals and their guests because of its simple yet authentic Boracay Island experience, from the ambiance to the food and island hospitality.

If you’re not staying in Laterna, you can still organize a private home dining for a group of 8-10 people. Here’s what to expect…

As featured in MAKATI: 10 Most Awesome NEW Restaurants in Makati 2014! @MakeItMakati

GINO'S Brick Oven Pizza-18.jpg

GINO's BRICK OVEN PIZZA is a Neapolitan-style Pizzeria originally from Katipunan, by passionate Filipino food entreprenuers Jutes & Cello Templo (of Cello's Donuts fame). The name of the resto is a tribute to their son, Gino.

The Makati branch is the Gino's 2.0 version. The taste is so authentic, some people think it's owned by Italians.

We loved their Burratta, homemade pasta, and Neapolitan pizza! Check out Gino's…

TAVOLATA: La Trattoria di Abaca – One of the BEST Italian Restaurants in Cebu! @TavolataCebu @theAbacaGroup

TAVOLATA is an Italian bistro that serves simple Italian dishes from The Abaca Group (known for really yummy Cebu restaurants like Maya Mexican Restaurant and Abaca Restaurant in Mactan.)

Its name means "to gather around a table", and the restaurant is designed to be a great place to hang out with friends or to celebrate special occasions.

It uses the finest ingredients from Italy like Finestra in Solaire, and has that informal feel, stylish ambiance and cult following like Wildflour in Manila.

It is worth flying to Cebu from Manila just to eat here. 🙂
