Baguio’s well-beloved restaurant, Café by the Ruins, has finally reopened! Now you can enjoy your favorite breakfast items like champorado, home-made bacon, Ruins coffee and signature camote bread in the original location.
A year after a fire hit the iconic restaurant, the next generation of owners decided to make a comeback. While the signature facade remains intact, Cafe by the Ruins has been totally revamped, offering a fresher and more modern look but still providing the same old favorites from their menu.
Late risers, rejoice! Feast on your fave breakfast food, any time of the day.
Kanto Freestyle is a 24/7 all-day breakfast concept featuring ridiculously affordable Filipino and Western fare. They offer pancakes, eggs Benedict, Spam, pork belly and the usual silog.
The owners wanted to revolutionize the kanto/karinderia image, by uplifting the same kind of breakfast items you’ll find in eateries all over the Philippines.
But why add the word “Freestyle” to “Kanto”? Because, here, you can mix and match your morning meal favorites. Make your own breakfast with different tapas, bacon strips, tocino and even have your eggs prepared just the way you like them—sunny side, scrambled, boiled or poached!
Kanto now has seven branches, and here’s why we love it…

Cha Cha’s breakfast buffet will get you all excited! With an extensive spread, you’ll find not your everyday breakfast items like their signature ube champurrado, breakfast pizzas, waffles in ube sauce, a batchoy noodle station, and an egg station serving 65-degree soft boiled eggs along with eggs benedict.
They also have healthy breakfast options perfect to keep your body fit and beach ready with fresh fruits, house-made yogurt, hummus, and overnight oats to name a few. Or since it’s a vacation, why not cheat a little and make those breakfast endings sweeter with yummy donuts, cakes, and pies!
The best part is that Chef Kalel Chan of Raintree restaurants along with Chef Romy Aumentado and Chef Gilbert Ramos love to evolve and play, around with the menu by changing it six times a week, so there’s always something new to look forward to before starting the day.
CHA CHA’S beach cafe is located inside locally owned Coast Boutique Hotel along station 2 of the vibrant Boracay Island. Besides the awesome beachfront view, the menu and interiors compliment the tropical fun beach vibe.
