HOBBIT TAVERN: Dining with the Happiest Hobbits in Boracay!

Hobbit Tavern is a specialty restaurant serving a wide array of international dishes at D'Mall in Boracay. Formerly known as The Hobbit House, it is now under the management of Freddie and Karen Elizalde, and Virgilio and Jeanette Sacdalan of Boracay Kelana Food Corp.

The Hobbit Tavern is most popular for their "Hobbit" waiters, based on the popular characters from J.R.R. Tolkien’s "Lord of the Rings." Most of these hobbits have been working at the tavern for years already and have a good grasp of attending to customers' requests, and are always ready to pose for a picture or two with the guests.

LITTLE FLOUR is the younger sister of Wild Flour serving all-day brunch at the brand new World Plaza Building. It’s similar to Wild Flour as far as its breads, pastries, and breakfast favorites are concerned, but with addition of Filipino rice bowl breakfast options and Filipino desserts.

Finally, New Yorks’ famed barbecue joint is now open in Manila!

Mighty Quinn’s is iconic for their New York-style Barbecue cooked the old school way–with wood and time. While they aim to honor their Texas roots, they break away in their use of non-traditional meats such as pork ribs, burnt ends, and heritage livestock.

New Yorkers have raved over their tender and moist beef brisket, savory smokey pulled pork, and impressively massive ribs, all slow smoked to perfection!

What separates Mighty Quinn’s from all the regular barbecue joints is their focus on every part of the menu, from the side dishes down to the drinks. Of course, their meats are still the main attraction.

DENNY’S: America’s Favorite 24/7 Diner Opens in Manila!

Denny’s is America’s 24/7 diner famous for their affordable all-day breakfast menu.

Founded by Harold Butler, Denny’s opened its doors in 1953 with its first store in California and has grown into 1600 stores located in Canada, Mexico, Latin America, United Arab Emirates, and now for the first time, the Philippines via The Bistro Group.

Their hearty all-time menu items include the Original Grand Slam, pancakes, skillets, and burgers. The Manila branch, however, will be adding several Pinoy favorites on the menu designed by Chef Josh Boutwood.

Denny’s Manila opens its doors on October 7th at 6am and will be always open moving forward.

Something sweet just opened in Manila!

The world famous brand from Las Vegas–Sugar Factory–is an all-family restaurant that caters to everyone of all ages! It has a unique concept of being a candy store and restaurant by day, and a hip bar by night. They have branches around the world such as in New York, Chicago, Bahrain, and Miami.

The American Brasserie is a treat for all, serving sweet and savory dishes like pancakes, salads, burgers, and pizzas throughout the day. MELT by Chef Michael Ferrer is an affordable steakhouse inside Ayala Technohub in Camp John Hay, Baguio. They use high-quality meat products imported from the US, Australia, and New Zealand, sourced from the chef's brother who happens to be the steak supplier in Baguio.

It's named Melt because the chef envisions the steaks to melt in your mouth.

Aside from their steaks, you can also check out their deconstructed versions of classic Pinoy favorites–Calderetta, Kare-Kare, and Salpicao.

ALLIUM is the restaurant reincarnation in Makati of our favorite Studio Kitchen in Alabang, by Filipino-American Chef Mark Tan. Its name is inspired by the genus of plants that include onions, garlics, chives, and leeks and responsible for the flavors we enjoy in our food.

We tried the degustation sampler and grilled meat selections prepared by Chef Mark during one of our Mercato partners’ meeting. His specialty is contemporary American cooking using fresh local ingredients and good quality imported meats.
