Known as the “Alps of Asia”, the panoramic winter wonderland will be hosting the world’s greatest snow festival–the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics.

The PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics will be the first winter games in Korea held in Pyeongchang, Gangneung, and Jeongseon from February 9 to 25, 2018, while the Paralympic Games will be held from March 9 to 18.

Korea Gangwon Fam Tour (Day 1-2)

The splendid sporting event located in the Gangwon-do Province also offers visitors many unique activities close to the venue. Adrenaline junkies can test their skills at the Alpensia Sports Park, while those seeking a more cultural experience can learn traditional Korean cooking classes at Jeong Gang Won. Guests can also find time to heal with a stay at Woljeongsa Temple located on Odaesan Mountain. And to end the day, enjoy a traditional Korean beef barbecue with a glass of soju.

Here’s a photo essay of my experience…

LAbor UNION Festival 2017: Labor Weekend with Music, Food, and Surfing! (Photo Essay)

LAbor UNION Festival 2017

Music, art, and surfing collide in LAbor UNION Festival 2017!

Inspired by Aklan’s LaBoracay, the festival brought three days of non-stop partying over the recent Labor Day weekend in the Philippines’ surfing capital of the north, La Union.

The revival of the 2015 festival ushered in live music from iconic Filipino talents such as Barbie Almalbis, Kevin Toy’s, and Hilera, which had the beaches of San Juan flowing with good vibes.

Proceeds from the non-profit event went to the conservation of the Pawikan and to helping the indigenous groups of Northern and Southern Cordillera known as the Kankanaeys.

Check out all the things that make surf culture awesome with our guide to the LAbor UNION weekend (April 28-30, 2017)…

ITBAYAT ISLAND: Life On The Philippines’ Last Frontier

Itbayat3

For first-time visitors, Itbayat Island may seem like a place suspended in time.

An island paradise barely touched by the unrelenting hand of modernization, Itbayat is one of the last regions of the Philippines where man has hardly left his mark on the environment.

It is a place that sometimes feels foreign and wild, yet at the same time, familiar and tame, a place of majestic rolling hills where wild horses roam freely, racing across open fields. It's also a place forgotten by history, where vast cave systems hold the secrets to some of the Philippines earliest settlers.

Most importantly, it's home to nearly 3,000 Ivatan—the original inhabitants of the island.

If you're up for a real adventure and want to experience untouched nature, Itbayat is the perfect destination.
