A Tribute to the Last Batch of Barbara’s Joy of Writing

I was fortunate to be part of the last batch of Barbara Gonzalez’ Joy of Writing Class. This blog post pays tribute to our graduation session in Lily Pad. To graduate, we had to write a 1,500 to 2,000-word article about our family and read it aloud to the entire class. It was a touching and memorable experience for all of us.

One Tama…

One Tama is definitely a better campaign than Ako Mismo (which Smart unfortunately denied and ruined the credibility of the campaign). Instead of a pledge, One Tama is a call to action to do something right for our community and country NOW — not later. The campaign is led by a group called Duyan ng Giting (Cradle of Valor) composed of young leaders inspired by the words of Jose Rizal.

Looking for an On-the-Job Training this summer?

I received this letter from Steffanie and I was touched to be asked to help them promote OJTCareers.com. The website is cool and you can post quality On-the-Job Training opportunities for students for FREE. Students can easily apply for the right OJT for them. In fact, I just posted an OJT opening for students who are aspiring Pro-Bloggers and Internet Marketers for the OAP Blog Network. I will train them on the ins and outs of blogging and marketing online. Then, they can launch their own blog or own internet properties and earn from a profit-sharing arrangement from the ad revenue of the blog.

Introducing…AWESOME Philippines!

The Awesome Philippines campaign aims to promote the Philippines to the youth travelers, defined as young people around the age of 15-25 years old, around the world. The country is already attracting tourists who are 25 years old and above, which is why the campaign aims to address the need to cater to a younger generation of travelers. This includes Fil-Ams and Asian travelers who would like to discover the natural wonders of our country, our heritage, our food and, of course, the different party places. 🙂

Why Not Live An Awesome Life in the Philippines?

The Philippines is so beautiful and we are blessed with a lot of Natural Wonders that it would take an entire lifetime to explore them all. Still, a lot of Filipinos leave the country to look for greener pastures elsewhere. However, the real key to living an awesome life here is if you can set up a system where you earn in US Dollars, produce products in Yuan or Rupees, and live on Pesos.

Manila loves Jack Canfield

Manila loves Jack Canfield because of his Chicken Soup for the Soul series. His claim to fame is that he was rejected a number of times before he was able to successfully publish his book. Jack owns the record of having the Most Books on New York Times Best Seller list in the Guinness Book of World Records. Jack is one of the role models and mentors Filipinos can learn from.

The New Breed of Parents

We reap what we sow. Oftentimes we hear older parents complaining about how their children seem distant, how the kids tend to be closer to their friends instead of their families. They claim that their children do not confide in them at all.
