HAVE HOT POT: Memorable Yummy Hot Pot Experience in Taipei! @JeronTravel

Have Hot Pot Taiwan-32.jpg

I love Taiwanese Hot Pot! One actually shouldn’t leave Taipei without having tried it.

(Related Blog Post: TIAN WAI TIAN – My BEST Hot Pot Experience)

I recently had one of my most memorable hot pot experiences in Have Hot Pot, Taipei. Unlike eat-all-you-can hot pot places like Tian Wai Tian, Have Hot Pot has an a la carte and well-curated yummy menu.

The signages and the menu are all written in Chinese, providing that authentic Taiwanese feel.

Here’s a photo essay of our Taiwan Fam Trip Group’s visit to Have Hot Pot…

EMILIO MORO: Best Tinto Fino (Pure Tempranillo Spanish Grape Variety) Wine in Manila! @RAMBLAPH @jmoroes

Emilio Moro x Rambla-45.jpg

EMILIO MORO Winery was established in 1891 in Northwest Spain. Now run by the 3rd generation of Moros, José & Javier, they produce one of the best Tempranillo (Spanish grape variety) Wines in the world.

José Moro was in Manila for a visit and created a beautiful 4-course Spanish meal with wine pairing at RAMBLA.

I’ve started to appreciate wine because it adds a different dimension to my meal experience. I also love hearing the story behind the wine because I get to know more about the passion and culture of the family who created it.

Here’s a photo essay of our Rambla x Emilio Moro dining experience…

TRIPLE-O’s by WHITE SPOT: Monty Mushroom, Milkshake, & Secret Sauce @TripleOsPH

Featured as MEGA FASHION HALL: 10 BEST New Restaurants @SMMegaMall in 2014!

Triple O's by White Spot-20.jpg

TRIPLE-O’s is the burger joint spinoff of the White Spot Family Restaurant in Canada, with international branches in China, Hongkong, Singapore, and now finally in Manila.

It’s named after its trademark “Triple-O” hamburger sauce (made of mayonnaise and hamburger relish). The name of the sauce itself came from the shorthand language used by the original order takers (known as carhops) to indicate the guests’ choice of extra mayo and/or relish. A Triple “O” on the order slip meant “plenty of everything”.

People who have travelled to or live in Canada are familiar with the brand and excited about the opening of the Manila branch.

It was admittedly my first time to try Triple-O’s. Here’s our experience…

SOFRITO CAFE: Authentic Puerto Rican Home Cooking in Makati

SOFRITO-26.jpg

SOFRITO CAFE by Millie is the first authentic Puerto Rican restaurant in Manila. Its name is a tribute to Puerto Rican Sofrito, a sauce of cilantro, onion, garlic, and green, red, and aji peppers used as a base flavor when cooking food.

The Manila restaurant scene is starting to get crowded with the same food concepts. As foodies, we’re always craving for something new, searching for flavors that educate us on other cultures. Sofrito is one such restaurant.

Check out this introduction to Puerto Rican flavors in Manila…

AMARI WATERGATE is a 5-star hotel in Central Bangkok. It’s strategically located in front of Platinum Mall near the Pratunam shopping area.

I was a bit apprehensive about going to Bangkok because of the Martial Law situation there, but Amari Watergate gave me a warm Thai welcome. This erased all my doubts and fears about the safety and security in the capital.
