Abaseria, Spanish for Sari Sari Store [Cebu Culinary Adventures #1]

By

I know this was perfect for my wife and friend, jewelry shopping in an exotic restaurant hidden in one of the Villa Aurora residences in Cebu City. Abaseria is spanish for Sari Sari Store; the concept of the restaurant is that it is home to different food delicacies and cuisine from Ilocos Norte, to Manila, and to the different provinces in Visayas.
…But since we are walk-ins and from Manila (I think), we had to seat in this long table for sharing and expect that people pass by behind you all the time.

[Bantayan+Malapascua #8] What to do in Malapascua?!

By

We were so excited with how stunning the sugary fine white beach and the overall ambiance that we decided to have fun a create a pyramid ala pep squad 🙂 Malapascua Island is small (similar to Boracay) that you can have a boat trip around the island for P600 for the 2-3 hour trip. … Filipino style Hilot Massage for P250 🙂 It is soo good that I always keep on wondering why would I go for shiatsu or swedish when we have our own unique Hilot massage that you would keep coming back for more. They use coconut oil which would be ideal for sun bathing after the massage 🙂 You can also be a bartender at the floating bar during happy hour from 5pm-7pm buy 1 take 1 for drinks 🙂 Or Watch the Sunset in this floating bar…

[Bantayan+Malapascua #7] La Dolce Vita! Authentic Italian Restaurant — can you believe it?

By

Although, this is located at the south beach and you have to walk all the way to the end of Malapascua’s main beach (there are alot of signs along the way).
…So, if you decide to go to Malapascua, La Dolce Vita is a must lunch or dinner venue for you 🙂 All the Italian food we ordered was superb and exceeded our expectations. … Tagliatelle ai Frutti de Mare (P250) Noodles with Seafood — All the seafood were fresh 🙂 We were so happy at this point, that most of us decided just to extend and spend another day in the charming island of Malapascua.

[Bantayan+Malapascua #6] Leaving Bantayan and a Wet Boat Trip to Malapascua!

By

As much as we want to savor the serene ambiance of Kota beach, we have to leave as early as possible so that we don’t catch the big waves enroute to Malapascua. … One of the problems I had was it costs us P4,000 for the one way boat trip and I know that this is too much (should only be around 2,500+) if we went from Malapascua to Bantayan.
…Our stuff did not survive as well, in fact, all the contents of Chris bag were wet — nobody survive 🙂 I’m glad that the laptops we brought, we’re spared from the water.

[Bantayan+Malapascua #5] Videoke ala Bantayan!

By

We tasted them earlier in the day during merienda, and it was a home made pizza delight 🙂 This is communal videoke style and oh boy, we are glad that we are the only people in this resto– as if we rented the whole place for P500 sing-all-night!
… The team (L-R Francis, Chris, Carlo, Ethel, and Noel) just starting to select the songs 🙂 Carlo the bartender serves the grande size red horse– for most of us this is the first time we ever attempted to drink red horse. … All of us are singing all our favorite songs and even Ethel who claims not to sing in videoke, enjoyed singing ala Kitchie Nadal 🙂 Francis (the guy far left) is the only songer among all of us.

[Bantayan+Malapascua #4] a Chinese Dinner @ Santa Fe Beach Club

By

When you are in the island, you can’t help it but miss the comforts of Manila Style living and sometimes crave for that chinese cuisine. … The only issue with Santa Fe to my point of view is that it is near the pier so the beach is actually dirty with oil and some debris.
…Thanks to Santa Fe Beach Resort, for making this available in Bantayan Island 🙂 Chopsuey 🙂 I know these are simple dishes but if you are in the island, these are so delicious 🙂 Sweet & Sour Fish!

[Bantayan+Malapascua #3] What to do in Bantayan?!

By

It costs P270 for 1 kilo which would sell for P250/ half kilo in Cebu City. a Photo Session is a must in the beach and you can spend your late afternoon swimming and taking photos. One thing good about Kota Beach is that it is in the tip of the Santa Fe, Island where you can walk to the left going to Marni’s Beach Resort or the right going to the other undeveloped resorts. … 1 San Mig Bottle entitles you to 2 songs, while 1 Red Horse Grande entitles you to 5 songs) This was my first time to drink Red Horse and I fell in love with its sweet taste.

[Bantayan+Malapascua #2] White Sands, Bantayan – The Best Restaurant in the Island!

By

This was a favorite and highly recommended by Tara Cebu (our official guide for the trip 🙂 You can notice that the waitresses are trained very well, from the setting of the utensils, to the way the food is served.
…These kebabs deliciously looked good but they costs P200+ per stick (we found out later) It rained that night so we had to move inside the main restaurant hut. … Our food was soo good and even the dessert was outstanding — crepe with Selecta choco peanut ice cream (P150-) How to get to White Sands: It is a very popular place and there are a lot of tricykad (bike tricycles) that you could rent going to/from Kota Beach.

[Bantayan+Malapascua #1] A Beach Love Affair…

By

Both the islands have a different attraction — Malapascua is so charming that it is regarded as Boracay more than 10 years ago… while Bantayan, is how the beach should be and where you can find peace and serenity.
…You have two options: take the fast craft which would cost you P100 and a terminal fee of P10 (less than an hour to Bantayan), or the ordinary ferries which would take you to Bantayan for almost an hour or so. … Since you are in the province, time slows down and so expect to get your food one hour after ordering them 🙂 The food in Bantayan is not that spectacular but definitely it is home cooked 🙂 At last, you now can feel that you are in a beach paradise where all your worries are swept away and you feel one with nature.

The Charming Island of Malapascua!

By

Just exclusive to Our Awesome Planet, I took a panoramic picture of Malapascua just to give you an orientation where the resorts are because there are not much information on the web about this island. … Cocobana Resort – The Biggest Resort and Most popular because this is were the boat station is, and they have beach front huts that you should try to reserve. … Only problem is it is on the other end of the main beach such that you have to walk 10-15 mins to go to the bars or to the south beach.
