The Secret to Living 100 Years Old…

We are so blessed that Lola Atis celebrated her 100th birthday last weekend. I decided to travel to my hometown Capiz to seek the secret to living 100 years old and to finally find my Bisayan roots. I’ve never appreciated our family’s heritage until I visited Roxas City for the first time (after 34 years) and our Bukid in Sinabsaban, Cuardero in Capiz. Now, I can truly say that I’m a Bisaya and proud of our family’s heritage.

Aidan’s First Photo Shoot

The Day After Christmas in the Philippines

Like most of Filipino families, we would spend Christmas alternating between the mother-side of the family and the father-side. This Christmas, both of our parents are in the US for the first time so we celebrated Christmas with our siblings and cousins.

We attended the 2nd Philippine Homeschool Conference led by The Masters Academy Home School Program last Saturday. My quest for finding the best education for my sons (initiated by this post: Reedley International School), led me to conclude that Homeschooling is the best education that I can give the next generation of Filipino Leaders. Let me share with you some of my learnings and insights about homeschooling:

Syoti’s Birthday

On your birthday, your mom and I decided to go out-of-town to celebrate your birthday. We wanted to go somewhere that we have not been to and have a chance to explore another city — like Davao. We were fortunate to get the zero fare of Cebu Pacific and to stay for free for four days at Crown Regency in Davao. We met with Tita Anna Vi, Tita Lani Ayala, and Tito Deq while we were in Davao.
