On August 11 to 13, 2017 at Central Square, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines’ National Youth Council and the SSI Group, Inc. are holding the Green Wanderer Travel Fair, where traveling meets sustainability and awareness.
A project led by the National Youth Council of WWF-Philippines, Green Wanderer will be offering sustainable travel options—from products made by local artisans to ecotourism destinations with uniquely curated itineraries for the curious, green traveler.
On Sustainable Living
As the Chairperson of WWF-Philippines National Youth Council, Alexa Cancio highlights the importance of sustainable living.
“Young people, having access to various information particularly through social media, are aware of the different social and environmental issues taking place all over the world. We believe that many of these issues can be addressed on the individual level by improving the way we live, which is why our council of eight members felt sustainable living would be the most appropriate message to push not just with young people, but with the Philippine society in general.”
She adds, “Right now, there isn’t any common online platform to find all the sustainable travel options in the Philippines, which is why it is timely to organize a travel fair like Green Wanderer that will house various sustainable options for the people.”

About Foodee Global Concepts
Foodee Global Concepts has now grown into a food empire. It has become the number one multi-faceted food operator in the Philippines thanks to a careful selection of restaurant concepts (like Mesa, Todd English Food Hall, Tim Ho Wan, Pound Burgers, Hook, and FOO’D By Davide Oldani) that will stand the test of time and the ever-adapting Filipino palate.
When Rikki and Beng Dee started, they had a simple dream as two 19-year olds: to feed their newborn son as they were both still studying. Rikki sold his car and put up Chin Chin on Pasay Road where they specialized in Chinese food–with Rikki waiting on tables and Beng doing the cashier’s work. Chin Chin was their pet name for their son Eric Thomas. Their bestseller, fish head noodle soup, was well-loved by a then unknown Henry Sy, Sr. He would frequently call up their restaurant after a long day at work and ask to keep it open so he could eat.
One day in 1987, Eric recounts, Henry Sy, Sr. tells his father Rikki, “You are a great guy, hardworking. I am opening a mall and I want you to be a tenant.” The mall that opened 30 years ago was SM North EDSA. The rest is history.

We love Music Festivals in the Philippines and we have this fear of missing out on the historic first event. How I wish that we were able to go to the first Malasimbo event which people keep talking about until now.
Here’s a chance to be part of the first ever Lio Beach Festival in El Nido, Palawan this coming June 9-11, 2017.
Check out Everything You Need to Know About the Inaugural Lio Music, Art & Beach Fest at El Nido, Palawan:
Our generation of Filipinos are known to have very tight-knit families. And one of the most beautiful family traditions we have here in the Philippines is how children, once they’re older, genuinely want to give back to their parents for all the years of love and support they received.
Here are some ways we can still continue this tradition…
1. Fulfill their forgotten travel dreams. This could be a postponed honeymoon in Hawaii or the Bahamas, or even an abandoned trip to the Holy Land because they needed to pay for your and your brother’s education. Purchase those tickets with Visa.
