It’s refreshing to see an all-original musical (ala NYC’s Broadway productions) written by Joel Trinidad and music by Rony Fortich. The story is a funny take on PUA (Pick up Artist) Games, looking for the (impossible) “Perfect” one and breaking up (eventually breaking down). Read the plot here.
It’s a must-watch show for theater lovers since this is an obra maestra of Joel Trinidad!
KAOS, an original production by Resorts World, is the name of the land where the entire circus musical is set. The title is inspired by the actual name of the white lion in the show. It is a Chinese Acrobatic show+ American Circus + Cirque de Soleil + Broadway Musical rolled into one.
I’m happy that we were able to launch platforms to help the best home-based businesses in Manila promote their products to foodies via Ultimate Taste Tests 4 & 5, Foodie Delivery service and Mercato Centrale Weekend Market.
Also, it was very fulfilling to have coached and inspired the next generation of Internet Mavens via the Maven Secrets Program Batches 3 and 4.
Now, it’s your turn…
How did you measure your life in 2010?

Xanadu is a hilariously cute parody of the 1980 Xanadu movie starring Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly. The movie was a flop but the Broadway musical was a surprise hit. I love it because of the songs. Plus, there are a lot of moments that you should not miss.
Listening to the songs of CATS during my childhood introduced me to the world of Broadway Musicals. So when we learned last November that CATS would run in Manila, we immediately bought tickets for the opening night show.
What CATS is all about?
CATS is about the annual tradition of the Jellicle cat tribe whose members meet in a modern junkyard setting with the midnight moon in the background. Before sunrise, the leader of the tribe will select the jellicle cat that deserves to be reincarnated.
Throughout the show, the cats invite the audience to the Jellicle ball as they are introduced one by one. The cats are very particular about their identity and use three different names: one that is used by the family that owns them, then a more dignified name and a secret name.
EQUUS is a very intense, disturbing and a bit shocking straight play.
It is intense because of the involving drama between child psychiatrist Dr. Martin Dysart and the young man he is treating, Alan Strang, who blinded horses and has a sexual fascination with them. It is based on a true crime involving a 17-year-old who blinded six horses in a small town near London.
There won’t be any spoilers in this review because it is best to watch Legally Blonde The Musical without knowing what would happen beforehand. I was laughing almost non-stop throughout the show (and even after the show) with my wife — I can’t wait to watch it again this Saturday.
The supporting cast was AWESOME! Jett Pangan, Geneva Cruz, Calvin Millado, Joel Trinidad, Jinky Llamanzares and Felix Rivera all delivered. We also loved the Greek Chorus and Delta NU girls. 🙂 However, Guji Lorenzana and Cris Villonco’s performances were a bit tame; and Nyoy Volante and Nikki Gil did not have that much chemistry at all (maybe because of the height factor?)
Nikki was a bit tentative at the start, but she started to get her groove on after the Harvard scene. She still needs to internalize the role fully. There were flashes of brilliant performances, though, especially when she dances.
Congratulations to the five (5) winners of Orchestra Side Tickets worth (P1,000) of OAP’s Legally Blonde contest! Thanks to the 99 contest entries for the Legally Blonde Contest — ALL of you will get an exclusive 20% discount on selected Legally Blonde Tickets for the June 26, Saturday, 2pm Show!

I Love to Watch Legally Blonde because….

I would love to watch Legally Blonde the musical because I loved the original movie. It has inspired me to break the stereotype and conquer my fears.
You see, I was a really geeky kid in school. Everything associated with anything kikay, I felt was a worthless past time. Little did I know this thinking was the result of my own insecurities. I was so afraid of trying out new things thinking I might look stupid and idiotic.
Elle’s character showed me that you can be stylish without coming off as a ditzy airhead. It also has made me realize that I was missing a lot in life because of my insecurities.
Ever since watching the original film years back, I have, among others, danced like a lunatic in a club, started my masters degree, travelled internationally all on my own, broken up with my loser “Warner Huntington”-esque of a boyfriend and found my own “Emmett Richmond” (who I did marry).
Legally Blonde breaks the stereotypes and shows just how far you can go if you believe in yourself and work hard. Its not how much you fail but how many times you’ve stood up and conquered your fears. =)
