Bambanti Festival: Isabela’s Scarecrow Festival

A big part of the lives of people from the Northern Philippines is Agriculture – the bread and butter of most families, if you will. So much of their lives revolve around grains and produce that it’s only fitting for them to dedicate an annual festival for it.

“Bambanti” is the Ilocano term for scarecrow. The watchguards of their fields and farms. This year, 20 out of 34 municipalities joined in the festivities.

Here’s a recap of my first time at Bambanti Festival 2018:

Van Gogh is Bipolar: Are you in the Mood for Vangogh?

Van Gogh is Bipolar is a unique restaurant in Maginhawa that revolves around the idea of healing and setting moods. It is perhaps one of the most well-known and long-lasting restaurants in the area.

To reduce the place to the word “quirky” is a disservice, as this restaurant is more than just that. They make an effort to spread awareness about being bipolar and other mental illnesses.

Here’s my first-time experience at VGIB…

oap-clarkbataan-04690
