Flatiron 1771: Inexpensive American Fare in Uptown Mall BGC

Flatiron 1771, an American-centric restaurant takes its inspiration from the iconic Flatiron building of New York. Bringing the lifestyle to Filipinos, the restaurant carefully curates dishes that bring the New York experience to the table. New York is home to people from various cultures and lifestyles whose lives intertwine harmoniously.

After their renovation early this year, Flatiron 1771 has also made some changes to their menu. A new assortment of small plates and signature cocktails that reflect the melting pot culture of New York have been added to the menu.

Here’s what I loved at Flatiron 1771…

ANYA RESORT TAGAYTAY: Hidden Escape in the South @anyaresorttagaytay

I’ve lived in the South for my whole life and while I revel in the slow-paced life here compared to the Metro, there are still days when I long for a change of scenery but without having to go far or take the expressway. Tagaytay is always a viable option, but the weekend crowd these days just makes me dread going there. Thanks to a recent media invite, I discovered Anya Resort – a hidden gem in Tagaytay.

Anya Resort Tagaytay is owned by Roxaco Land Corp., the same group behind Fuego Hotels & Properties. Located far from the main highways of Tagaytay, Anya is highly secluded thereby giving utmost privacy and peacefulness.

Here’s my experience at Anya Resort Tagaytay during their first anniversary…

HiEx: Traveling Smart with Holiday Inn Express Newport Manila

oap-holidayinn-7348

Holiday Inn Express, the first of its kind in the Philippines, opened this July 2018. Located in Newport City, the hotel provides convenience for smart and savvy business travelers with its close proximity to the airport. This differs from the Holiday Inn in Makati, as the Express focuses on limited services at a reasonable price.

Holiday Inn Express is a globally recognized brand that focuses on three things – safety, comfort, and service. The old Remington Hotel has been refurbished to match the look and feel of all HiEx branches across the world.

I stayed for a night to experience the convenience they have to offer…

ANG HULING EL BIMBO: Of Sad Homecomings #AngHulingElBimbo2018

Ang Huling El Bimbo is a masterful piece of expert storytelling through the music of the Eraserheads, the most iconic rock band of the 90s. Their songs are expertly put together to build the story of friends who have lost their relationships, and their unexpected reunion years later.

Ang Huling El Bimbo is the latest original Filipino musical produced by Full House Theater Company (FHTC) and Resorts World Manila.

Here are my thoughts on the musical…

CRAYFISH PARTY: A True Nordic Feast @SofitelManila

Kräftskiva (the Crayfish Party) is a typical Swedish festivity that symbolizes the end of summer for Nordic countries, usually in August. Once reserved for royalty, the crayfish eventually became popular amongst the masses after Parisians took an interest, and the rest of Europe followed suit.

Now in its 6th year, NordCham Philippines in partnership with Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila transports guests to a feast for the senses set in a Viking Village for the themed celebration of the Crayfish Party 2018.  Save the date for the 8th of September 2018 from 6pm onwards and get ready to indulge in a festive party.
