Hokkaido is surely popular as a winter destination, but you might just change your mind after seeing this autumn itinerary we’ve prepared…
Traveling around Hokkaido is one of the best things you can do in Japan in autumn. Due to its northern location, Hokkaido sees the autumn leaves before anywhere else in Japan. The area is packed with a number of famous fall foliage spots, including many exciting bucket list-worthy attractions such as the Sea of Clouds in Unkai Terrace, Blue Pond, the flower fields of Biei and many more!
It may not be the first choice for many travelers going to Japan, but for most who have been to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, Hokkaido is exactly the next Japan adventure we are all looking for! Good thing, you can now conveniently fly from Manila to Sapporo in less than 6 hours! No more stopovers in Tokyo, unlike my previous trips.
And, of course, this guide won’t be complete without the local dishes that are in season. Check out our list from sights, to autumn foliage spots, to incredible landscapes, to food and even shopping!
Every summer in August, Swedes throw a party in honor of a very special crustacean!
Last September 14, 2019, guests feasted on bountiful servings of imported crayfish and Nordic spreads, drank free-flowing beer, dressed in Viking costumes and danced to the festive music as Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, in partnership with NordCham Philippines and PhilippinesNorway Business Council, staged the biggest Crayfish Party in Asia at the Harbor Garden Tent.
There is a good number of great cities in Central Japan such as Toyama, Nagano and Gifu, which are full of history, culture, nature and quiet countryside scenes. Join us as we visit the oldest castle in Japan, stay overnight at a 200-year old gassho-zukuri homestay with a local family and even try one of the best places for affordable high-grade sushi in the land of the rising sun! The area is specially recommended for second-time visitors to Japan who have already been to major cities such as Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.
And if, like me, you love discovering hidden gems in Japan, there is a region I would highly recommend to you, the Chubu region which is also called Central Japan.

Prost! To an authentic Bavarian celebration at Okada with an authentic German experience drinkin’ and munchin’ the true flavors and spirit of Octoberfest.
To make things even more exciting, Okada Manila is building a replica of the Bavarian village inside the Crystal Corridor, featuring free-flowing Bavarian Weihenstephan beer served by beer maidens. What is Octoberfest without German food? Get your stomachs ready for some hearty platters of bratwurst, pork knuckles, oven-baked chicken, meatloaf and more! And adding further to the festive mood is a live band playing authentic German music from Monday 23 September to Saturday 28 September at Okada’s Crystal Court.

Here are 5 reasons why you should stay at Amorita…
We all know how everyone loves online shopping, but don’t you just wish you could buy and even try on pieces from your favorite online brands in one place?
Paragon by The Penthouse is the store’s newest and most innovative multi-brand concept that is home to various online homegrown brands. The 426-sq. meter space is an exciting playground for those who love to Instagram, shop and dine.

AirAsia launches a burger that can help save lives. The InspiRED Burger features a mouthwatering chicken patty infused with fish sauce, kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass, topped with zesty green chili mayonnaise, shredded purple cabbage and tomato on a red beetroot bun. It’s the best burger I’ve eaten while up in the air!
The InspiRED burger was a creation of New York-based chef ambassador Hong Thaimee who wanted to combine the best of both worlds with Thai flavors in an all-American classic. The result? An east-meets-west burger that delivers a satisfying spicy punch!
For every inspiRED burger, 10% of the purchase price goes to a fund to support the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Besides the burger, you’ll also love the award-winning Santan inflight menu. Here’s a look at what else we loved…
London is an amazing city that’s full of history, offering visitors thousands of things to do. Here, you’ll find some of the world’s best architecture, galleries and museums. It’s the land of Harry Potter, the Beatles, James Bond and Sherlock Holmes!
To help you plan for the perfect trip to London, I’ve put together a step-by-step guide on how to go about the visa application process.
But before we get started, please note that a UK visa is not a Schengen visa and only covers England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. If you already have a Schengen visa, traveling to the UK will require a separate visa.
Why not treat your special mom to a sweet escape in our very own city!
It’s not a secret that I’ve been traveling a lot lately, and most of the time, I’d leave my suite and be out sightseeing. The best part about staycations is that you get to take advantage of all the hotel amenities. Since you’re in your city, the focus is all about that much-needed R & R.
When you think about Sofitel Manila, the first thing that probably comes to mind is its famous Spiral Restaurant buffet—one of Manila’s best buffet spreads! But what you’re missing is spending a relaxing staycation in a tropical oasis with the iconic lagoon-shaped swimming pool, majestic Manila Bay sunset, luxurious pampering and a full line-up of gastronomic feasts.
I was thrilled to indulge in some relaxation with the girls! What better way to unwind than a quick vacation minus the hustle of traveling. Here’s a sample itinerary of our weekend at Sofitel Manila…
