El Jardin de Manila is Jenny Bernabe’s travel-inspired dining concept tribute to her travel buddy Miguel who owned El Jardin De Patricio in Buenos Aires.

We had our last dinner in BGC here before the Manila lockdown, and here’s what we think about El Jardin de Manila…

First Things First

It’s like a hole-in-the-wall secret cafe in the latest Bonifacio High Street South destination.

El Jardin de Manila
G/F Unit 1 18a High Street South, Corporate Plaza Tower 2,
26th Street Corner 11 Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig
Operating Hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00am-11:00pm

A love story gave birth to this Buenos Aires-inspired cafe.

The interiors are inspired by Bali and the owners’ travels, providing a relaxing escape in the urban jungle that is BGC.

The menu is limited—highlighting the best ingredients, breakfast food and healthier options with signature cocktails by Dave Banda.

El Jardin Food

Bolzico Steak and Eggs

Bolzico Steak and Eggs (₱480). Sous vide Bolzico vacuo, peppercorn sauce, roasted potatoes, asparagus, fried egg

The best steak and eggs we tried in BGC in terms of taste, quality of the meat and overall value. Good to share.

El Jardin Raclette Burger (₱410). Potato buns, Bolzico marucha grind, special dressing, raclette cheese.

Not memorable, and the raclette cheese did not help. They should take inspiration from the Bolzico burger from Chingolo.

The Brunch Toast

The Brunch Toast (₱250). Smoked salmon, creamed spinach, poached eggs, ginger lime cream, sourdough.

All the healthy breakfast ingredients you need on a bed of toast.

Sunset Smoothie Bowl

Sunset Smoothie Bowl (₱290). Strawberries, mangoes, coconut milk, granola.

We loved this strawberry smoothie served in a bowl. Best mixed with the granola and mangoes. Not too sweet.

Coco

Coco (₱220). Coconut milk, coconut water, coconut sugar, niyog.

Everything coconut kind of drink with a mix of coconut milk and coconut water with coconut sugar glazed rim. Healthy drink.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the ambiance will draw you in, but the steak and eggs will make you go back for more. Budget ₱600/head.

It’s a secret place to hangout with friends specially after a session at You+ or Koop in Boni High Street South.
