The 293-room SEDA Residences in Makati quietly opened its doors at Ayala North Exchange (beside Makati Med) and quickly became the preferred 4-star hotel among those working in offices and embassies around the area. Though quite busy on weekdays, it becomes a haven for those looking for an intimate staycation with the family on weekends.

19th: Lobby

The lobby, with its own separate elevator all the way to the 35th, is hidden on the 19th floor .

The outdoor pool feels like a resort, with the Makati skyscrapers as backdrop to your pool session.

Salcedo and Legazpi’s weekend markets are walking distance, and you can access the Makati skywalk system to go to Greenbelt.

21st: 2105 Bedroom Suite

The rooms are spacious: studio (31 – 43 sqm); one-bedroom (50-57 sqm); or two-bedroom (93-108 sqm), which was where we stayed.

I could see the Makati Fire Station from the Ayala corner Buendia view of our room.

The little one is always very happy to enjoy his swimming session in the bath tub.

Bathrooms have separate toilet and bath with Seda’s toilet amenities standard across all hotels belonging to the chain.

This was the kiddos’ room, good for the big boy and two young boys, which we converted into a game room with the playstation.

The living room became the homeschooling area where the little ones studied.

All units are equipped with fully-furnished kitchenettes, dining facilities, HDTV and access to laundry facilities.

Loved that they provided microwavable popcorns and groceries so that you could try and enjoy the kitchen facilities.

Our staycations are not complete without an in-room massage service for a worry-free sleep.

We would usually go from the 19th lobby to our room floor at 21st and to the roof deck at the 35th.

35th: Straight Up Bar / Misto Dinner

Straight Up Bar Drinks Menu | Misto Menu: Breakfast a la Carte | International Favorites, Beverages | Appetizers, Salads | Soups, Sandwiches | Big Plates of Noodles and Rice | Mains | SEDA Signatures | Sweet Endings

Don’t forget to go up for sunset and happy hour cocktails before having dinner.

Straight Up Bar has an awesome view of Legazpi Village where you can spot planes taking off from the horizon.

Order their signature drink of prosecco with calamansi popsicle to get you in the mood for conversation.

Big Molo Soup
Big Molo Soup (Seda Atria, Iloilo) (₱400). One whole grilled chicken marinated in a blend of spices

For dinner, order the molo soup with authentic recipes from SEDA Iloilo as part of their SEDA signatures menu.

Boneless Chicken Inasal
Boneless Chicken Inasal (Seda Capitol Central, Bacolod) (₱900). One whole grilled chicken marinated in a blend of spices

You could taste the authenticity in their Bacolod chicken inasal that was deboned and good to share with the family.

Crispy Tadyang
Crispy Tadyang (Seda BGC, Taguig City) (₱620). Deep-fried beef ribs with pickled vegetables and garlic rice

SEDA BGC’s signature dish is the Crispy Tadyang which never fails to satisfy every foodie who tries it.

Start with a Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand to pair with the starters.

Cedar Plank Salmon
Cedar Plank Salmon (₱590). With crispy shallots topping, served with risotto with shrimps, asparagus and lemon saffron sauce

Misto offers a la carte lunch and dinner menu on weekends with your favorite grilled salmon or western comfort food.

Pork
Pork (₱330). Marinated Filipino Style

The kids enjoyed the liempo with rice which felt like home.

Black Angus Rib Eye
Black Angus Rib Eye (₱1,995). Mulwarra grass-fed rib eye with steamed vegetables, crispy onion, griddle potatoes and truffle mushroom sauce 2500 for 300g

You can celebrate and enjoy the Mulwarra grass-fed rib-eye for your special milestones.

Pair the steak with Malbec from Urban Uco, Argentina.

35th: Misto Breakfast

Buffet Breakfast is served also on the 35th floor, and you can eat in the al fresco area.

It was so beautiful to have breakfast in the morning with this urban view of the quiet financial side of Makati.

All of the kids’ simple favorites were satisfied in the buffet—yogurt, cereals, bread and butter, fresh fruits and fresh juice.

Breakfast was limited to Filipino comfort food favorites with vegan/Indian options.

Our first meal of the day was simple with sausage and crispy bacon.

The boys are growing up so fast, and we just want to enjoy every staycation with them.

After breakfast, we went for a swim and played water wrestling or dolphin-papa-riding in the cold pool.

The five-year-old can enjoy the kiddie area with his brother looking after him.

For the boys, the playstation room was the best, and we could literally leave them here the whole morning.

The parents could work out during the staycation while their children play next door.

Swim pa more during sunset and never-ending harutan sa swimming pool.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I love that it is quiet on weekends from the busy office crowd and you can walk literally to different restaurants in Salcedo or Legazpi.  We spent most of our time in the room and having a fully equipped kitchen with goodies was perfect to laze out with the fam, just watching a movie or playing games. The boys loved the resort-like pool and the game room.

This is one of my favorites—Straight Up Bar, SEDA’s signature roof deck bar, because of the awesome views of the quiet side of Makati. Misto is always a great place to eat and celebrate a birthday or special milestone during your staycation.

Congratulations to the SEDA team for a job well done with the residences concept!
