Malongo Barista Atelier is a French specialty coffee studio featuring premium and organic coffees and teas plus a coffee roasting facility inside the workshop.  The chain’s first branch outside of Paris, the BGC store also serves authentic French crepes with savory versions by Chef Alain Llorca and sweet versions by Chef Jean-Michel Llorca.

First Things First

Malongo started as a small coffee roastery in Nice, France in 1934, using slow, gradual and traditional methods.

We set our morning meetings here with the fresh aroma of coffee and French-style coffee and crepe.

If you are particular about your coffee, buy green beans from the store itself and roast them on your own.

The Malongo barista team can help you select your single-origin beans from Ethiopia, Brazil or the Congo.

You can wait while the store roasts your green beans on the spot.

You can buy organic coffee for your bulletproof, your preferred single-origin beans or your fair trade coffee.

They have extensive coffee paraphernalia—hario v60, coffee syphon, chemex or French press brewing methods.

You can also buy your organic and fair trade loose leaf teas for your tea sessions this holiday season.

Menu: Sweet & Savory Crepes, Coffee, Cold & Hot Drinks, Organic & Fair Trade Teas

Order the Barista’s favorite single-origin espresso (₱125 single, ₱155 double) or the most expensive Jamaican Blue Mountain (₱310 single, ₱350 double) using drip, siphon or cold brew methods.

Chicken and Mushroom Crepe annd Hot Chocolate
Chicken and Mushroom Crepe (₱350). Chicken, Mushroom and Parsley | Hot Chocolate (₱180 moyen)

I loved the crepes but they were so big, good for 2 actually. Pair them with coffee or their milky hot chocolate.

Chicken and Mushroom Crepe

Our favorite chicken and mushroom in creamy sauce wrapped in a thin layer of French crepe.

Croissant
Croissant (Petit – ₱70, Grande – ₱120)

Also, check out their freshly baked croissants or pain au chocolate.

Flambeed Apple Crepe
Flambeed Apple Crepe (₱300). Apple, Calvados (or rum) and Ice cream

Order the dessert crepe—flambeed apple with apple brandy topped with vanilla ice cream with speculoos biscuit crumbs.

Chocolate Banana Crepe
Chocolate Banana Crepe (₱220). Dark Chocolate, Banana, Cream, Sugar and Ice Cream

The chocolate and banana crepe is always a crowd pleaser and goes well with your coffee.

Final Thoughts

Malongo, with its coffee roastery and retail shop feature, is one of the cool European cafe places at One Bonifacio. It’s a bit on the premium side, but it’s a great place for a casual meeting or for a co-working space for the day with good coffee.
