The Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria — What to Expect?

The Crowne Plaza is a global brand and chain of business hotels managed by the IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) which includes its more famous sister brand, the Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts.

Much like the one in the Philippines, they cater mostly to business travelers and operate in almost every major city in the world. Their hotels are usually located in city centers, business districts or airports.

Built-in 2014, The Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria is the first Crowne Plaza property in Manila. It is strategically located at the central business district of Ortigas Center, at the heart of Metro Manila in Pasig City.

First Things First

Located smack at the heart of Ortigas, The Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila is within walking distance of the Ortigas MRT Station and major shopping malls like Robinsons Galleria and SM Megamall.

We stayed at one of their 2-Twin Bed Club Deluxe room at 30th floor which became our home for the next 3 days and 2 nights.

The rooms are simple yet class, and I really like the earth tones and yellow lighting which gave the atmosphere a sophisticated feel.

Not to mention the rooms are spacious and are fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows that gave us a panoramic view of the busy and energetic CBD of Ortigas.

Amenities

There is a small but cute outdoor swimming pool nestled at the rooftop of the hotel where you can enjoy an afternoon dip with a not so typical view of the towering office buildings of Ortigas.

Checked-in guests can also take advantage of their free entry gym by anytime fitness.

But where Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria shines is their events spaces that are ideal for small meetings and conferences

They also have spaces for large scale gatherings, events, and exhibitions.

For avid mall goers, The Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila is directly connected to Robinsons Galleria Mall from the 3rd and 4th floors.

While for members get exclusive access to the club lounge located on the 19th floor of the hotel. The lounge offers daily breakfast and snacks. Guests can get comfortable in a quiet space while sipping coffee with a panoramic view of the city. There is also have private meeting rooms for the members’ use. Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila is really a business travelers’ haven I must say.

Restaurants

During our stay, we also got to try out some of their favorite restaurants. One of which is the Xin Tian Di Chinese restaurant.

We tried out their unlimited dim sum and here are our top picks!

Chili Dumpling

Steamed seafood dumpling in superior stock

Glutinous pork puff (ham Sui kok) & deep-fried dumpling (Fried Hakao)

Steamed chicken feet in XO Sauce

Double-boiled congee with century egg

Chocolate Mantao (foreground) Ampalaya Buchi (does not actually contain ampalaya)

Our favorite, steamed bun with custard and egg yolk.

Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at the Seven Corners Restaurant.

And a wide range of freshly baked pastries straight from the brick oven every morning.

Another breakfast favorite, dangit na pusit!

Do note that an entirely different selection of menu is served during the dinner. The highlight of this buffet: The Filipino desserts!

Ham and cheese corner

Live cooking station: meat on stick and fresh seafood

And my favorite US ribeye steak!

If Filipino food is your thing, head over to The Fab restaurant at the 3rd level of the hotel. Here we enjoyed some of my favorite classic Filipino comfort food like Sinigang, Adobo, and Leche Flan.

What better way to end the night than to watch a live band while sipping on a beer or two at Bar One.

You can try their Summer Cocktail special, Tropical Pink Bliss with white rum and splash of white berry for a refreshing start or maybe the perfect night ender? You choose!

Final Thoughts

Overall, I loved my stay at the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila. I find its location very convenient and accessible. Imagine being at the heart of Metro Manila, with major shopping malls and restaurants just a few steps away. Bustling zones of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Makati, and Quezon City just within my reach. The hotel is also only a 40-minute drive from Ninoy Aquino International Airport too!

But the highlight I must say is the extra spacious and sleek rooms, it compliments the seriousness of its surroundings. Staying true to its trademark, this hotel really is the best choice for business travelers and corporate honchos visiting Ortigas Center.
