Wolfgang Steakhouse BGC: Best Steak Brunch in Manila! #OneBHSEats

As featured in 10 Best Restaurants/Cafes of One Bonifacio High Street!

During my recent #OneBHSEats food tour, most of the participants were raving about how good the steak was at Wolfgang’s. We recently visited the resto with the family for an awesome steak brunch experience in BGC.

Here are some tips on what to order from the menu, how much the items for consideration are and how best to enjoy the experience.


First Things First

Wolfgang Steakhouse BGC is the 3rd and flagship branch of the Wolfgang Zwiener joint venture with Raymund Magdaluyo in Manila.

Ideally, Wolfgang wanted to open first in BGC, but it took a while to find a perfect corner spot fronting a garden with a street view of Bonifacio High Street.

Wolfgang Menu: Brunch Specials Menu | Prime Steak & Chops Menu

This is the best Wolfgang Steakhouse branch because of its young contemporary ambiance perfect for that NY-Steakhouse Brunch vibe in BGC.

It has all the classic Wolfgang Steakhouse elements: alabaster chandelier, mosaic tiles ceiling, wooden floors and chairs plus a touch of contemporary elements—cove lights, banana plants and floor to ceiling windows.

Reserve their semi-private long wooden table for your brunch experience with family and friends.

Soup & Salad (A la Carte)

The experience starts with bread service of soft rolls, baguette and house-made bread served with butter.

Shrimp and Pomelo Salad
Shrimp and Pomelo Salad (₱728). Poached shrimp, fresh pomelo, mixed greens, mint, cilantro, walnuts, onions, cucumbers and Wolfgang’s Asian dressing

You can order this a la carte salad of fresh greens with walnuts, shrimp and refreshing pomelo bits.

French Onion Soup
French Onion Soup (₱618)

Sometimes, all you need to stimulate your palate is a properly made French onion soup to start your brunch.

Mimosa and Kir Royal
Breakfast Cocktails: Mimosa (₱278) and Kir Royal (₱688)

The brunch experience really starts though with a toast of mimosa and kir royal.


Wolfgang Set Brunch

You can order from their three-course set brunch menu, and the price will be dictated by the entree. We ordered two sets of brunch specials to have a variety to mix and match.

Starters

Fresh Oysters
Fresh Oysters (2 pcs. – ₱488)

We like our oysters raw, fresh and juicy with a touch of lemon.

Shrimp and Avocado Salad
Shrimp and Avocado Salad

We love avocado in our salads, specially when in season.

Entree

Filet Mignon & Eggs
Filet Mignon & Eggs (250g – ₱2,388)

Nothing beats this steak and eggs experience for brunch, and there’s enough to share with everyone.

Jumbo Lump Crab Omelette
Jumbo Lump Crab Omelette (₱1,488)

Properly made omelette that matches well with the steak brunch course.

Sides

Creamed Spinach, Steamed Broccoli, Steak Fries

The brunch set comes with two side dishes, and our favorite was the creamed spinach and broccoli.

Steak Rice
Steak Rice

We tried to limit our carb intake, but eating steak with rice was still hard to resist.


Entree (A La Carte)

For the boys, we ordered a la carte to share.

Rib-Eye
Rib-Eye (600g – ₱4,488). USDA Prime Dry Aged Rib Eye Steak 

The dry aged Rib-Eye is still the best in terms of flavor and per gram cost (best to share with 4-6 people).  This USDA prime is flown in from the US Midwest  and dry-aged onsite for 28 days.

Order a bottle of Malbec to pair with your rib-eye to complete the steak experience.

Lobster Mac & Cheese
Lobster Mac & Cheese (₱989)

Often, the kids love mac & cheese as their side for their steak.

Classic Wolfgang Burger
Classic Wolfgang Burger (₱828). USDA Prime Dry-Aged Ground Sirloin Patty served with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, steak fries and onion rings, burger topping, cheese + ₱100, bacon +₱100, avocado +₱100

The burger was surprisingly good, with a thick sirloin patty which you can squeeze between the buns and enjoy with each bite.

Seafood Linguine
Seafood Linguine (₱1,088) served with Maine lobster, shrimps and clams in seafood marinara sauce

To balance the meal experience, order the seafood pasta with tomato sauce to contrast with the steak.

We always love Wolfgang’s “tomato catsup” for the seafood (but sometimes also for the steak).


Desserts

The set brunch comes with a half-serving of their classic dessert.

Pecan Pie

My favorite pecan pie that gets addicting if you eat it with the cream.

New York-Style Cheesecake
New York-Style Cheesecake

Half a cheesecake is enough because it’s cheesy, rich and satisfying for those craving a sweet ending.


Final Thoughts

Overall, this is the best steak brunch in Manila with the best One Bonifacio High Street vibe. Kudos to Chef Chris Oronce because this branch is tops in terms of steak flavor. This is the finest place to celebrate with a Wolfgang steak.

You have to decide whether to get the Filet Mignon & Eggs (250g – ₱2,388) set brunch specials or the Rib-Eye (600g – ₱4,488) a la carte. The set brunch is good value for money and the biggest of the big US-serving standard that’s good for two. For steak lovers, you’ll appreciate the Rib Eye more, so best to share this and go with your family and friends. Budget about ₱2,500/head for the Wolfgang set brunch.

Don’t forget to reserve the long wooden table or the tables near the window for the best brunch feels.
