Megawatt, integrated inside the Build+ hardware store in Banawe, is an industrial solar panel-themed restaurant specializing in steak and keto-friendly meals.

It’s such a cool manly concept that’s really handy when you need to eat and look for some hardware stuff for the house or cleaning materials for the car.

Here are some tips to have an awesome experience at Megawatt…

Megawatt Pizza & Steak

First Things First

The Megawatt concept came from the Tex-Mex pizza concept in N. Domingo (now closed), integrated with the ribs and steaks of Red Baron, now transformed to an American Pizza & Steak place along Banawe Avenue.

(Yes, they also sell boats in-case of flooding.)

The showroom of the professional tools and hardware equipment of China-based Ingco greets you as you enter.

The second floor provides car care products, painting products, personal protective equipment and other specified equipment like lawn mowers, small generators and ceiling fans.

Megawatt Menu: Chicken Poppers, Gorgonzola Burger |  Warm-Ups, Burgers | House Fried Chicken, Crab Tomalley over Shirataki Noodles | Chick’n, Pasta | Smokehouse, Seafood Garlic Pizza | Pizza | Aged Porterhouse | Ribs, Rubs & Steaks | Frozen Mango Cake, Lick Island Mango | Desserts, Beverages

You eat American steak and pizza surrounded by hardware tools with a solar panel-inspired table.

If you are going with the family, best to reserve the table with the comfortable cushioned chairs…

…with the Iron-man figures and Thanos guarding over your children.

Appetizers

Best to order immediately because service can be slow during peak times. Enjoy peanuts while you wait.

Nachos

Nacho-ordinary Nachos (₱255).

Order these thin nachos—generously smothered with ground meat, cheese + sour cream sauce and slices of Jalapeño for spice—while you wait.

Bacon Bombs

Bacon Bombs (₱238)

Indeed, this was the bomb, with cheese wrapped in bacon that you can eat in one big bite. Gone in 60 seconds.

Cheese, Cheese, Cheese, Chesse!

Cheese, Cheese, Cheese, Chesse! (₱335). Parmesan, mozzarela, gruyere & feta cheese on white sauce.

For the kids, we gave up ordering other pizza flavors because they like the simple cheese one (no vegetable toppings). We loved the thin crust pizza because it was not too filling, and you could appreciate the crunch in every bite.

Megawatt House Fried Chicken

Megawatt House Fried Chicken (₱245 – 2 pcs) with Waffle. This ain’t no house that fried chicken built, only fried chicken built on the house.

This was a crunchier version specially the chicken skin, a good appetizer for the kids.

This is a place that kids, seniors and parents alike would love to eat in on a nice Sunday lunch in Banawe.

Ribs, Rubs & Steaks!

Smoked Duck Steak

Smoked Duck Steak (₱349).

The duck tasted like ham with a good layer of fatty skin layer. Yum! Yum!

600g Aged Porterhouse

600g Aged Porterhouse (₱3,229) with Truffle Sea Salt. Our premium-prized cut of steak seasoned liberally & grilled to perfection. Big in flavor, big enough for 2… or 3! It isn’t the King of Steaks for nothing.

The Aged Porterhouse was already cut into pieces for easy serving and then topped with crumbs and trimmings toasted like chicharron.

This was actually how we like our steak, with a bit of steak ju oil to put on the rice!

You can add their signature steak sauce and chili sauce, but I like it simple with maybe a dash of Himalayan pink salt.

Keto-Friendly

Big Angus Keto Burger

Big Angus Keto Burger (₱285 + ₱49 Keto Upgrade)

I was surprised by how juicy and tasty this burger was—cooked medium and served with a bun of vegetables. Sarap!

Crab Tomalley Over Shirataki Noodles

Crab Tomalley Over Shirataki Noodles (₱358). Creamy crab fat on Japanese konjac yam noodles. Who knew crab roe isn’t only tasty, but also Keto-friendly?

This no-carbs pasta, using gelatinous konjac yam with umami flavors from aligue, is one of my favorites.

Dessert

Frozen Mango Cake

Frozen Mango Cake (₱85/slice)

Make sure to thaw it a bit before you eat and to order a bullet-proof coffee to pair it with.

Lick Island Mango

Lick Island Mango (₱158)

For the boys, order the Lick Island Mango drink to pair with the Frozen Mango cake.

Final Thoughts

Overall, love the steak-hardware-keto concept and the fact that it’s a good alternative for people looking for good food (that is not Chinese) along Banawe.

Order the Bacon Bombs, House Fried Chicken and Thin Cheese Pizza, which we loved, for appetizers. Have the Smoked Duck Steak and 600g Aged Porterhouse Steak for your mains. For Keto-friendly meals, get the Angus Keto Burger and the Crab Tomalley Over Shirataki Noodles. Budget about ₱800/head.

Congratulations to the Build+ Megawatt team for an awesome new steak place concept in Banawe!
