ASCOTT MAKATI: Best Staycation in the Heart of Ayala Center, Makati

ASCOTT Makati is one of the best staycations I had in Metro Manila. Besides its convenient location amidst the busy Makati Central Business District and the Ayala Malls.

We love its spacious designer serviced apartments perfect for short- and long-term stays for business and family staycations who are after the feeling of home, but with a butler and 24-hour services and facilities.

I love to think of it as my own furnished apartment complete with my own kitchen, bedroom, living room and bathroom. They offer chic and sophisticated 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 3-bedroom apartments as well as studio units perfect for traveling individuals.

Ascott Makati is managed by The Ascott Limited of Singapore, the world’s largest international serviced residence owner-operator.

THE ROOMS

Ascott

We stayed in Ascott Makati for 2 days and 1 night at their 113sqm 2-Bedroom Deluxe Suite that only cost PHP16,625.00 net/ per night. Unlike other hotels, you’ll notice Ascott Makati is distinct for their spacious hotel rooms.

You’ll love the newly renovated suites. The designer fitting with their spacious living and dining areas, a fully-equipped kitchen, state-of-the-art home entertainment system, laundry area, and gorgeous bedrooms will definitely make your stay luxurious and sophisticated.

One of my favorite surprises from Ascott is the little complimentary snacks that they leave in the room.

We had a yummy piece of cake, bottles of different flavored ice tea, and a platter of mangoes, oranges, grapes, bananas, and apples.

There’s also a coffee machine and electronic kettle to allow guest to enjoy CBTL (Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf) premium espresso and tea at the comfort of their room.

A priority of mine in any hotel room is the bedroom suite. We loved timeless gold and teal accents, plus the greyish blue adds a cooling and relaxing feel to the eyes.

While the king size bed was perfect for an uninterrupted sleep session with their plush pillows and high thread count sheets.

The bedroom is also equipped with a bed lamp and sockets perfect for charging your phone at the comfort of you laying in bed. The internet connection was also stable for work purposes and uninterrupted Netflix bingeing sessions. Besides that, you’ll appreciate knowing the bedroom is equipped with its own individually controlled air-conditioning unit, LED TV with international cable channels and a working desk with universal sockets and cables.

The wardrobes are spacious complete with room slippers, bathrobe and electronic safe big enough to store a laptop.

Even office supplies.

The bathrooms boast of hi-tech showers, bathtub and L’Occitane toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, lotion & soap). Other bathroom amenities include toothbrush, shaving kit, cotton buds, and a showering cup.

Washing machine and dryer are also available in case you plan to stay longer.

The kitchen is perfect for long staycations. Complete with a fridge, rice cooker, toaster, oven, electronic stove, and hood. You can also find most of the utensils you need from pots, frying pans, plates, spoons, forks, knives, bowls, mugs, and glasses.

Cooking was a fun way of bonding activity with the barkada. Plus there’s a nearby supermarket where you can stop by for fresh ingredients.

Makati city view from the windows.

FACILITIES

Ascott

They have a lavish glass-walled lobby offering seated check-in service to its guests.

Ascott

You can also find their only F&B outlet Myron’s that also doubles as the breakfast buffet area.

Ascott

As a fitness junkie, the gym was my fave! You can find rowers and cycles.

Ascott

treadmills for those who love cardio, weights, and dumbbells for strength building.

Ascott

And a workout studio for those who love yoga and circuit training.

Ascott

You can also check out the open-air tennis court and basketball court.

Since it’s a staycation we looked forward to relaxing in their pool and jacuzzi after a sticky and tiring day.

BREAKFAST

Ascott

The breakfast buffet is one of the things I looked forward to during our stay at ASCOTT MAKATI. Myron’s is located in the lobby beside the pool area, offers an indoor and outdoor dining experience and serves a local and international menu with something for every taste.

The breakfast spread is composed of a selection of classic favorites such as cheeses, meats, bread, yogurt, cereals, fruits, and bacon. Other local breakfast staples are the sweet and salty tocino and chorizo.

We ordered the ham and cheese omelet from the egg station and had it served on our table.

Ascott

I’m more of a bread person in the morning, so I helped myself with their flaky croissant and eggs benedict.

Ascott

The lugaw section with tons of toppings to choose from was also good. I like adding fish sauce, salt, pepper, chives, chicken strips, calamansi, hard-boiled egg, and tons of garlic to my mix!

Ascott

A healthy spread of fresh green salad, fruits, muesli, and yogurt selection.

Ascott

End your meal with a sweet tooth and grab a carrot or banana cake.

MYRON’S (F&B)

Ascott

Here you can enjoy luxurious lunches, fine dinners, and even an expansive breakfast buffet, which hotel guests can enjoy from 6 – 10 am.

Ascott

Caesar Salad for two (P625)

For starters, we recommend the Caesar salad, where they toss the salad in front of you, that you can customize to your own preference.

Ascott

My fave part besides the generous serving is the taste of fresh eggs in the dressing.

Ascott

Baked Oyster Rockefeller (P530)

You won’t get wrong with Oysters sourced fresh from Capiz. The Rockefeller was very good!!

Ascott

In fact, we also ordered the Oysters Kilpatrick and it was also a hit!

Ascott

Tiger Prawn and U.S. Sea Scallops with Roasted Pumpkin and Scallion Sauce (P1050)

For the seafood selection, we loved the perfectly cooked scallop and tiger prawns.

Ascott

Myron’s Choice with Foie Gras (P7,145)

Myron’s is known for their steaks, so of course, we had to try one. I heard the President was their best-seller, but we had Myron’s Choice with Foie Gras instead.

I love a well-cooked steak – the tender juicy meat, with a pinkish juicy center that’s slightly charred on the edges. You can taste the beefy flavor in the finish. Best eaten with steak rice.
