IRVING’S All Day Dining & Best Desserts! (In the Shadows of Cafe Juanita)

Irving's-19

Irving’s is the All-Day Dining male version of Cafe Juanita serving Filipino, Asian and American cuisine. It’s named after the lively Irving Street lined up with cafes in the Sunset district of San Francisco, California.

The restaurateur team of Doc Boy Vazquez and son, Jun Bormate created a more refined and relevant comfort food that the new generation of diners can enjoy.  We also love the desserts, and it is one of the best in the Brgy. Kapitolyo neighborhood.

Here’s what what to expect at Irving’s by Cafe Juanita …

TAIWAN: Awesome Guide to the Heart of Asia! ?? (2017)

By Juanico Fernandez

Taiwan for me is easily one of my favorite destinations in Asia. It has that distinct look and feels to it that reminds me of Hong Kong and Japan combined, yet it still manages to stand out among its Asian neighbors.

I remember visiting this tiny island nation that has a little bit of everything, from mountainous landscapes and beautiful beaches to a sprawling nightlife in the metropolis. Not to mention the incredible people you’ll meet along the way that makes Taiwan the perfect travel destination for Filipinos.

If you plan on visiting Taiwan but isn’t sure where to start or where to go, don’t worry–I’ve created a guide that will take you on a journey from capital city Taipei in the north all the way down to Kaohsiung City in the south.

SOUV! by Cyma with Chef Robby Goco’s Culinary Magic!

Souv

SOUV! is a progressive Greek concept focusing on spit fired meat by Chef Robby Goco and the hip restaurant cousin of Cyma. The name is short for Souvlaki referring to grilled skewered meats in Greek cuisine.

Chef Robby Goco did it again! He creates winning restaurant concepts like Cyma, Ristras, Charlie’s, Green Pastures and now Souv! for over a decade now in Manila.

We tried all of Chef Robby’s recommendations and here’s what we love in Souv!

Philippine Wrestling Revolution: “This is Awesome! ??? Nyeeeam!” (A REVIEW) @PWROfficial

Philippine Wrestling Revolution-46.jpg

Philippine Wrestling Revolution is the premier professional wrestling show in the Philippines featuring our very own Pinoy Wrestlers and a Live experience that will surely get you hooked into the storyline.  PWR was founded last December 2013 with the aim to become the premier wrestling promotion in Southeast Asia.

We grew up watching WWF (now WWE) with our dad until there was a scandal that revealed that all the matches are scripted. After a while, you get to appreciate the wrestling matches like watching a theatrical wrestling show and you are on the edge on what will happen next.

I’ve always wanted to watch a live wrestling match and here’s what we think about PWR Live in Manila…

A Taste of Paris in Manila with Chef Patrick Terrien! @SofitelManila

20170721_204331_HDR.jpg

Manila looks forward to the French Month of July when Sofitel Manila celebrates Bastille Day (July 14) and everything about the French Culture.

I’m always excited about the French culinary personalities they would invite to Manila, like a Cheesemaster, a Michelin Star Chef or a Chef Instructor like this year’s honored guest, Chef Patrick Terrien.

Here’s a photo essay of the 4-course French Degustation French Wine Dinner

Executive Chef Peter Montemayor honed his skills for over 15 years — specializing in Western and SE Asian cuisine.  He has operated and ran a number of establishments in Boracay, before heading to Thailand and Bali to hone his culinary skills and explore other SE Asian flavors.

Having lived for six years in Thailand and Bali, Chef Peter learned to appreciate the spices and tastes of the region and he brings that back to the Philippines at Prana.

Chef opted to leave out red meat on his menus and is not shy to label his food vegan-friendly.  The menu at Prana changes regularly depending on the availability of the produce.
