ADAAM and YVES: Scandinavian-inspired All Day Breakfast Organic Bistro (A Review)

Adaäm & Yves Organic Bistro-25.jpg

Adaäm & Yves Organic Bistro is a Scandinavian-inspired bistro concept with an organic all-day-breakfast food menu, by Sean Go and Leslie Tan of Davao. You can call it a millennial place that serves clean food, with an inspiring artistic industrial ambiance, and hip music. The name is Scandinavian for “Adam & Eve”.

We celebrated Joshua’s 8th Birthday here with the family. Here’s our review of and what to expect at Adaäm & Yves…

Adaäm & Yves: First Up, Greens & Dressings, Petit Dejeuner |  Comfort Zone, Thirst Quenchers | Wine, Cider | Dessert & Tea

The industrial chic ambiance of the place is a bit intimidating, especially on a Saturday night.

We love the booth with a large square table, swing-inspired chair, and a modern lighting. You must reserve this spot.

I like the open kitchen setup, the high ceiling, and generous spacing between tables.

★ Trifecta (P250 +10% service charge). Kale chips, oyster mushroom chicharon, taro chips with homemade aioli dip.

The kale chips are our favorite and this crunchy appetizer plate is a good way to start your meal.

Plate Señor (P620 +10% service charge)Tasting plate of Filipino favorites: homemade grass-fed beef tapa, free-range chicken tocino, and chicken sausage.

We ordered this sampler of all the Filipino breakfast favorites. The tapa was tasty, full of flavor, and quite meaty.

The chicken tocino was just ordinary.

The chicken sausage was just like how we enjoy it at home.

Bogart & Bacall (P310 +10% service charge). Roasted beets, asparagus, goat’s cheese, micro greens, caramelized walnuts.

The vegetables are crunchy fresh, clean tasting and with a nice presentation. They say the Jacques & Gilles is better vegetable dish option because of the seared tuna from Gensan.

★ Portobello Road (P390 +10% service charge). Grilled portobello mushrooms, micro greens, free range egg.

We loved the portobello mushrooms, which tasted meaty and were quite filling.

★ Pink Floyd (P255 +10% service charge). Classic organic pink rice arroz caldo with free-range chicken, hard-boiled free-range egg on the side, chili garlic paste.

Very tasty and made with organic rice, this dish comes in a unique pink color from the beet root. We loved this, especially the presentation!

You can reserve this room (good for 10) for P10,000 minimum for your private event…

Yoko Oh No! (P495 +10% service charge). Grilled Kitayama wagyu steak, two free-range eggs any style, sweet potato mash, French beans and mixed hydroponic greens.

The Kitayama Wagyu was tasty, cooked well-done with some tough parts. It’s already a complete meal with eggs, greens, and rice.

Adaäm & Yves Organic Bistro-35.jpg
★ Cornelius Vanderbeef (P540 +10% service charge). Kitayama wagyu corned beef, two free-range eggs any style, choice of sweet potato mash, sweet potato hash, mixed hydroponic greens.

We loved this out of all the meats we’ve tasted, because of the tasty, meaty strands. A bit more expensive but we still enjoyed it the most.

Road Runner (P760 +10% service charge). Grilled organic ostrich steak, two free-range eggs any style, choice of sweet potato mash, sweet potato hash, French beans, mixed hydroponic greens.

The ostrich steak was a bit bland but at least healthy.

 Adaäm & Yves Organic Bistro-40.jpg
Barack Banana ( P195 +10% service charge). Gluten-free banana muffin, flambeed banana, and walnuts.

The banana muffin was a bit dry, but we turned it into a cake for the birthday boy.

Congratulations to Sean Go and Leslie Tan for a cool Adaäm & Yves concept!

Overall, we enjoyed celebrating Joshua’s birthday at Adaäm & Yves. We had our concerns at the start–whether it was good for a family celebration with kids–but the service was very welcoming and friendly. But it does feel more like bar than a restaurant.

I would recommend the Trifecta and the Portobello Road for appetizers, and for your main dish, order their Noli me Tangere (Beef Tapa) or Cornelius Vanderbeef. You can’t leave without trying their Pink Floyd arroz caldo.

Budget about P600/head. It’s a bit pricey compared to other usual breakfast places like Unit 27, but it’s a cheaper and more hip alternative to Kitchen 1B

Our bill was a bit high at about P4,00o+ for all the dishes we ordered.  I was hoping they have more than breakfast type of food.

But it’s still a great place to meet with your millennial friends this holiday season. 🙂

P.S. Signum House is a wine and whisky place on the second floor of Adaäm & Yves.

The restaurant closes at 10pm but you can transfer to the second floor for an after-dinner wind down session.
