Kidzania Manila-47.jpg

Kidzania Manila is an education- and entertainment-themed city for cool kids aged 4-14, where they can role-play their dream profession, learn how to earn money, and assert their independence.

It’s quite overwhelming with 55 activity centers, and all the people recruiting you to try their activities can distract from the overall experience. So you have to develop your strategy before going based on the age and interests of your kids.

Here’s our first timer’s guide to Kidzania Manila…

Park Triangle, North 11th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City

Operating Hours:
Mondays to Thursdays:  9am to 4pm (1 shift)
Fridays to Sundays (and National Holidays): 9am to 2pm and 3pm to 8pm

The Big Banquet 3 (TBB3), the Battle of the Best Caterers in Manila,  was held last July 5, 2015 at the Blue Leaf Events Pavilion, McKinley Hill.

Excitement for the 2015 TBB was high because most of the caterers were expected to elevate their setup as well as the quality of their food and service. Because of this, tickets were sold out more than a week before the actual event. There were a total of 11 caterers, with 10 established contenders–Bizu, K by Cunanan, Juan Carlo, Albergus, Hizon’s, Tijoe, Red Chef, Center Table, Josiah’s, Mesclun, and 1 new caterer–Passion Cook.

Different Sides of Manila Life! #NXSideofLife

(Art Mural by @Faileart of Brooklyn, NY for #ArtBGCOne)

Manila is quite fun to drive around in during weekends and a great way to rediscover the city.

Here’s how we celebrated our Independence Day long weekend–driving in the Lexus NX200t–to rediscover a different side of Manila…

Lexus’s compact luxury crossover is a good fit for urban adventurers, along with its intuitive technology, powered by the potent turbocharged engine. Behind the wheel of the NX, we began our journey under the Fire Trees.

Stellar on Reel: Pole Dancing, Aerial Skills, and Sexy Striptease! @PolecatsManila

PolecatsPolecats Manila, the country’s premier aerial school, is showcasing their student athletes in a recital entitled “Stellar on Reel”. The 5th annual students show features pole dancing tricks, aerial silk lifts, aerial hoop inversions and sexy striptease dance moves inspired by popular movie soundtracks.

We loved how the performers made the dance moves look so easy. Those gals and guys rocked the show, and proved to us the possibilities we can do with a simple pole when we put our mind into it.

Here are our favorite highlights from #StellarOnReel …

Movies like The Hunger Games, Mission: Impossible, Charlie’s Angels, and Bring It On are interpreted on stage showcasing the students’ aerial expertise. A big Magic Mike inspired number choreographed by SexBomb’s Aira Bermudez will also feature student members from the Polecats Manila studio in Ortigas Center, and new students from the Alabang class.

NO FILTER: A Millennial Monologue ! (a Gen X-er’s Review) @theSandboxCo #SandboxNoFilter

NO FILTER - Sandbox Collective-48.jpg

NO FILTER: LET’S TALK ABOUT ME is an original Filipino monologue by The Sandbox Collective that highlights the angst and aspirations of an often misunderstood technology-empowered Gen Y generation called The Millennials.

Being a Gen X-er who has been blogging for 10 years, it was a revelation for me to be able to empathize with this young Filipino generation–often described as lazy, self-entitled, and narcissistic. But I actually love working with this group of vibrant and globally-in-touch change makers (sometimes called hipsters in Manila).

Don’t miss this chance to watch this exceptional play about The Millennials.

Here’s what we think about No Filter: Let’s talk about Me
