TWG TEA Anniversary Treats: Celebrating Two Years of TWG TEA in Manila! #TWGTEAPH

I can’t believe it’s already been two years since TWG TEA opened in Manila and changed the tea drinking habits of Filipinos. I could still remember the excitement over having a wide variety of around 400+ teas made available in the country and introduce us to the tea time culture.

Let’s celebrate with TWG TEA on November 25 and 26 (Tuesday and Wednesday) with their anniversary reward treats–a thank you to their loyal customers for their continuous patronage. TWG TEA will offer ~40% off on all-day dining anniversary menu items, on all their teas, and on our favorite tea-infused macarons! 

TWG TEA is the luxury tea brand of The Wellness Group, established in 2007 in Singapore. It opened its first tea salon and boutique in Republic Plaza, Singapore in 2008, and it opened its first store in the Philippines in Greenbelt 5, Makati. They use 1837 as part of their branding because this is a significant year in Singapore, when the tea trade was formalized with the creation of the Chamber of Commerce.

TWG Tea has the largest collection of fine tea harvests from various tea-producing regions and exclusively hand-crafted tea blends by their tea masters. They brought the entire collection of tea to Manila–about 450 teas in store at any one time from a collection of 800-1,000 teas.

TWG TEA SALAD (P475 usually P252 for the Anniversary +10% service charge) Mesclun salad with foie gras, smoked salmon, marinated shrimps, herb Roma tomatoes, French beans and corn sprinkled with chives and served with 1837 Green Tea infused vinaigrette.

TEA TREATS

The anniversary treat is also a great time to taste their various teas!

Two of the most expensive teas in the TWG TEA list: T601 Szechwan, China – Yellow Gold Tea Buds, (P2,875/pot) and T618 Fujian – Wu Yi Mountain: Da Hong Pao Prestige (P1,645/pot)
 
I love the elegant yellow gold tea–with actual gold particles on the leaves–which give it a hint of bitterness. 

The elegance of the tea leaves is highlighted by this beautiful French kettle.

MACARON TREATS!

Don’t forget to buy the macarons for P30/pc (instead of the usual P50/pc) during the anniversary treat!

My favorite flavor is the Napoleon Tea & Caramel, which has a bitter-sweet caramel flavor.

The Vanilla Bourbon Tea & Kaya flavor is also quite unique.

I also recommend the Brothers Club Tea & Salted Caramel.

You can buy them in special colored boxes or in the “Christmas Tree” packaging.

(Tip: Remember to refrigerate them after 3 hours; these can last for two weeks.)
