Your Local PH (6 of 11).jpg

YOUR LOCAL is a hip neighborhood bistro in Legaspi Village by Chef Denny Antonino and Nicco Santos. They serve their own fun interpretations of Southeast Asian favorites and their own unique take on all-day breakfast. I like the vibe, the well-curated menu, and the secret entrance to the next-door cafe.

The resto started as a secret place in Makati, with no commercialized signages…just a door that people in the know use to enter.

Love the hipster-sanitized-industrial vibe of the place, with an artistic take.

YOUR LOCAL MENU: Small Bites, Soup, All Day Brunch | Main | Dessert, Sides, Drinks | Wines & Beer

Best place to sit is the cushioned seats on one end of the resto.

There’s an open kitchen with a counter where you can sit to watch …

It’s a nice place for a foodie meet or if you just want to eat good food with your officemates.

YOUR LOCAL-13.jpg
✮ Cauliflower Soup (P195 +10% service charge). Cauliflower, japanese uni, fried kale.

The soup tasted clean, with bursting flavors of cauliflower, superfood kale, and an aftertaste of uni.

YOUR LOCAL-12.jpg
✮ Pomelo Salad (P190 +10% service charge). Shrimp, peanuts, winged beans, pickled quail eggs, wild rocket, shallots, yuzu, nam jim, thai coconut ice cream.

This salad was fun. With sweet pomelo, fresh greens, a taste of yuzu, and the best part — the refreshing Thai coconut ice cream on top.

✮ CHORIZO SANDWICH (P490 +10% service charge). burnt onion & chorizo jam, pepperoncini cream cheese, fried egg, wild rocket on a squid ink bun

The chorizo is a bit sweet, cheesy with a hint of spicyness. We love the combination of the chorizo with the egg with the greens and black bun effect.

… with parmesan fries and truffled ketchup.

The parmesan fries and truffled ketchup were gone in 60s with the boys fighting over it.

The chorizo burger is best eaten with your hands!

YOUR LOCAL-19.jpg
Hebi Hiam Pasta (P380 +10% service charge). Shrimps, chilli, quail eggs, fish cake, served ali olio on fettucini.

It’s like a cross between Italian pasta and noodle dishes in Singapore. Good if you’re looking for something different.

Your Local PH (1 of 11).jpg
Braised Beef Pasta (P370 +10% service charge). slow cooked beef, red wine reduction on fettucini.

This is a safe pasta dish for the kids with tender beef ragout.

YOUR LOCAL-17.jpg
✮ Chicken Rice (P325 +10% service charge). Steeped chicken, ginger rice, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce.

Our boys loved this! With juicy chicken, sweet soy sauce, and the rice with the ginger chicken broth.

YOUR LOCAL-22.jpg
We had to order another Chicken Rice dish because the serving size was not enough for the 3 boys.

YOUR LOCAL-24.jpg
✮ Smoked Salmon Donburi (P390 +10% service charge). Twice cooked salmon, mentaiko, ebiko on roast corn and shitake black rice.

We love this because of the salmon-mentaiko-ebiko flavor combination and the black shitake rice. It was fun eating this, and a bit bitin if you share it.

You can pass through the secret divider…

…if you want a different happy, fun ambiance for your coffee and dessert at Yardstick.

YOUR LOCAL-27.jpg
You can have black coffee or try their signature concept coffee. (Do you have any recommendations at Yardstick?)

YOUR LOCAL-28.jpg
They have limited displays of pastries for dessert.

YOUR LOCAL-33.jpg
Hand Brew Coffee (P160).

The Daily/Hand Brew is really good with their featured single origin or blend coffee. I like to take my coffee black and savor the flavor of the coffee beans.

YOUR LOCAL-26.jpg
Dense Banana Bread (P195 +10% service charge). Dense banana bread, gula malaka, black sesame paste, coconut-calamansi rice.

We ordered the banana bread at Your Local, which was an Asian twist to the pudding dessert. It was OK…it was fun eating but I won’t go back for this.

YOUR LOCAL-1.jpg

Overall, we love the unique fun take on Asian comfort food with a play on flavors that works.

It does not come across as fusion, but more of a Chef’s interpretation, infused with inspiration from traveling around Southeast Asia.

We recommend the Pomelo Salad, Chicken Rice, Smoked Salmon Donburi and Chorizo Sandwich. Make sure to try Yardstick‘s single origin coffee blends next door.

Budget about P700/head for a complete 3-course meal. Check it out on your next foodie trip with friends.
