Fwd: Week 5: Everyone Can Take Part
Southern Leyte“Today we had the most interesting interview. Meet Louie of Southern Leyte. A volunteer of the #bayanichallenge who has hearing impairment. He volunteers with a bunch of other kids with the same condition.

His interview was simple: He was sad to see all the destroyed houses after both typhoons (Yolanda and Basyang) and wanted to help. He saw what GK was doing and was happy to see the houses slowly being rebuilt again.

Not once did he mention his disability had I not asked if it was of any hindrance. He may have simple reasons but the message here, I think, is very powerful. No disability can stop a passionate soul.

Louie will not be able to build a house after the Bayani Challenge. He will make the smallest dent in the lives of the people who need help. But may his determination and heart for his fellow Filipinos be an inspiration to us all. That everyone has a role to play. Everyone has something to give.” – Anna Francesca Mempin, Bayani Challenge Team
