Mercato Centrale, the popular food and lifestyle market from Metro Manila, will be bringing its food-tripping experience to Ayala Mall’s Centrio, Cagayan de Oro with MERCATO DE ORO starting December 6 (Saturday)!  Mercato de Oro will feature a night food and entertainment market every Friday and Saturday (4pm-3am) and a morning gourmet food and ‘fresh and organic’ market every Saturday (7am-2pm).

About SIDS

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the unexpected death of an infant, which cannot be explained after an autopsy, death scene and clinical history investigation.  It is closely related to other accidents during sleep, like suffocation or strangulation due to soft objects, loose bedding, and the like. 

While the actual causes of SIDS are still unknown, researchers have found a high correlation between an infant’s sleeping environment and the risks of SIDS.  Here are 8 things you should remember to keep your baby safe while sleeping:

DIMSUM BREAK: Are you craving for The Original Steamed Fried Rice of Cebu?!


The Steam Fried Rice of Cebu is fried rice topped with shrimp and pork, and steamed in a rice cooker with its secret sauce. This was an original creation of Mr. Henry Uytengsu of Ding Qua Qua Dimsum House in Cebu, which pionereed the all-day dimsum dining in 1969.

After Ding Qua Qua (1 branch) which offers a signature dimsum buffet, Mr. Uytengsu’s group created Harbour City Dimsum House (3 branches) which featured the traditional dimsum carts wheeled to the customers’ table-sides. They then created the mall-based Dimsum Break outlet (13 banches) to originally address the dining needs of the mall’s late night foodies from the bowling alleys and cinemas.

True enough, the name “Dimsum Break” was inspired by taking breaks to eat dimsum during a bowling session. It is considered the Philippines’ version of Panda Express.

There’s a secret garden resto at the Makati Garden Club by Chef Sandra Fernandez of Savoy Bistro fame. They serve the Chef’s French & European dish specialties and authentic European bread amidst a homey, girly ambiance.

L.E.S. BAGELS: (Lower East Side) New York-inspired Bagels in Manila @ Tuscany, McKinley Hill

L.E.S (Lower East Side) Bagels is a quaint shop in Manila serving NY-style freshly baked bagels by Chef Cuit Kaufman of Borough and Nolita fame. 

We like their bagels — chewy but not too tough — that go well with the creative cream cheese combinations offered. The ambiance is hip and it’s nicely located near Bonifacio Global City, which is critical for a bagel shop to survive.
