My favorite places for Hainanese Chicken Rice in Singapore are Boon Tong Kee, Chatterbox in Meritus Mandarin along Orchard, and Wee Nam Kee (WNK for short) in Novena. Finally, Wee Nam Kee is opening in Manila this November, tucked inside the Ayala Triangle Gardens.
In Manila, Tao Yuan is the undisputed king of Hainanese Chicken Rice but you have to pay P450+ for 1/2 chicken and order a separate serving of chicken rice for P100+. Wee Nam Kee’s Hainanese Chicken will debut at a price point of only P170+. The price of Shiok but with the quality of Tao Yuan — how can you beat that?
Foodies are definitely excited to welcome The Best Hainanese Chicken Rice in Singapore, now in Manila!

How do you cross over from being a passionate foodie to a credible and published food writer? Try these tips from the writing experts:
1. Select an interesting subject that has not yet been featured in other websites or magazines
Food features can be more than just about food. Aside from the food itself, other possible features may include new restaurants, chefs, and recipes. Just make sure that the topic is unique or that’s you’re presenting it in a different angle.
For instance, when writing about family recipes (sometimes called “heirloom recipes”), mention its unique history, what makes the family behind it special, any unique innovations that have been passed on through the generations, and so on. Magazine editors value writers who can present ideas from a perspective that sets the publication apart from the rest of the pack.
When people talk about Hungarian food, the first thing that comes to mind is their famous Hungarian Sausage. Magyar tries to expand that definition and introduce Filipinos to the world of Hungarian cuisine.
As a parent, do you sometimes get that milestone-moment-feeling with your kids? I feel as if there’s a fast forward button that moved me to a moment where I find myself cheering for my son in his first competitive sport experience. Seeing Aidan perform some sports feat that helped his team secure the gold is unforgettable. Seeing him enjoying his first victory is priceless.
