It’s a…(boy or girl?)

A lot of people ask us if Baby5 is a boy or a girl. In this video, we would like to share with Our Dear OAP Friends the answer to this question… Thanks for joining us in Our Awesome Planet adventure! 🙂

Dulcelin Gourmet Specialties

ULTIMATE TASTE TEST 3.0 RATING: 3.8 out of 5.0 – OVERALL WINNER!

Dulcelin was the overall winner for Ultimate Taste Test 1.0 with a 4.6 rating and it also topped Ultimate Taste Test 3.0 with a 3.8 rating!

Dulcelin is best known for its Mango Torte (its closest competitor is Tony Cuerva’s Mango Torte). But now, Dulcelin has proven twice in UTT 1.0 (with 100 foodies) and in UTT 3.0 (with 260 foodies) that it is the Best Gourmet Home-Based Business for Savory Dishes, Meats and Specialty Desserts.

The Wagyu Tri-tip, Belly Roast Beef and Cannelloni were given the thumbs-up by foodies. The Lola’s Chicken Relleno got mixed reactions and only a few people raved about it. This pulled down the rating to below 4.0 levels.

For dessert, Dulcelin’s Strawberry Cake, Callebaut Chocolate Ganache Cake and, of course, the Mango Torte are all winners! They have a special way of making any dessert sweet and rich, but still light enough to enjoy.

For this Christmas Season, Our Awesome Planet highly recommends Dulcelin Gourmet Specialties. 🙂

Anvaya Cove’s Reeforestation with Giant Clams

Last Saturday, Aidan and Joshua participated in the Reeforestation with Giant Clams in Anvaya Cove.

In this video, you’ll learn more about Giant Clams from Kaloy Yap.

Some interesting facts:

  • Did you know that Giant Clams are Hermaphrodites — both male and female? At age 8, clams become male-mature and at age 10 they become both male- and female-mature.
  • Did you know that the Giant Clams have a symbiotic relationship with a plant?
  • Did you know Giant Clams release millions of eggs in the water, resulting in increased amount of available food and increase in fish density and biodiversity?

Aidan and Joshua also had the chance to tag one of the first clams named ANV02A1. Hopefully, when they are older, they can go back to Anvaya Cove again and check out the clam’s growth.

Planning Your Awesome Sofitel Escape

Checking in a hotel within Manila to spend your long weekend is becoming a trend these days, especially for families who don’t want the hassle of a road trip and just want to have a relaxing escape. Sofitel is one of my favorite hotels because it transports you to a resort setting — without you having to leave the heart of Manila. It is a great place for families with kids and for couples who just want to escape the stress of everyday business life. Plus, it’s about one hour away from Makati.

Here are some suggestions on how to plan your Sofitel Escape…

3. The Binondo Food Trip

Perhaps the nearest place for a food trip can be done
in Chinatown in Old Manila. If you have a foodie friend who knows the Binondo
area quite well, it is better to organize your own itinerary based on what
would you like to explore. Sunday brunch is a popular time to go to Wai Ying
, Ying Ying or the recently reopened President’s restaurant. Popular orders would be the usual dimsum dishes of Shrimp
Dumplings
, Siomai, and Pinsec Frito

Pinoys Did it Again in CNN/You Tube Copenhagen Debates Contest!

Remember this: Raise The Filipino Voice in Copenhagen
(I'm sharing the official press release from Paul. Congratulations! Thanks to all who voted. 🙂

A week after Efren Peñaflorida was hailed as the CNN Hero of the Year, two Pinoys again reigned in an online competition when they won the CNN/YouTube Debates contest for climate change. The contest encouraged individuals to send videos with their views, opinions, and questions about the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. The online voting took place between November 6 and 30.

According to the YouTube channel designed for the event, the global YouTube community “has voted on the strongest voices to send them to Copenhagen.
The two Pinoys, Paul Darwynn Garilao and Alfonso Orioste, Jr., will be part of the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15)
and attend the live debate sponsored by CNN and YouTube. CNN News Anchor Becky Anderson will host the live debate that will be participated in by global leaders from 193 countries.

Out of the 600 entries,
another entry — Global Warming Project from Brazil — also made the cut.

 2. Pampanga, the Culinary Center of the Philippines

A Pampanga food trip is always good for a full day without the need to
go on overnight because it is now one hour away and very accessible via the
North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). A trip to the culinary capital is not complete
without trying the best restaurants there.

Most people would go on a convoy or meet up at the last Caltex along
Edsa before turning into NLEX. Others prefer to meet at the Total Gasoline
Station, which is the last station before the San Fernando Exit.

Here is a good tip: Start with the best of San Fernando’s restaurants,
then travel along MacArthur Highway to Angeles City’s foodie places. You can
already exit Pampanga through the Angeles City NLEX Entrance going back to
Manila.
