[Bantayan+Malapascua #6] Leaving Bantayan and a Wet Boat Trip to Malapascua!

By

As much as we want to savor the serene ambiance of Kota beach, we have to leave as early as possible so that we don’t catch the big waves enroute to Malapascua. … One of the problems I had was it costs us P4,000 for the one way boat trip and I know that this is too much (should only be around 2,500+) if we went from Malapascua to Bantayan.
…Our stuff did not survive as well, in fact, all the contents of Chris bag were wet — nobody survive 🙂 I’m glad that the laptops we brought, we’re spared from the water.

Nothing beats an Antonio’s Dinner @ Tagaytay!

By

This is the food paradise place where you won’t complain about how expensive it is (P2,000+/person) because you are paying for the dining experience with perfect food, perfect ambiance, and perfect service from Antonio’s and his staff. … For those who have not been to this place or planning to go on any season, here is a guide on how to have the best Antonio’s experience.
…If you cannot decide, try these samplers of Tenderloin Medallion with Gratin of Assorted Mushrooms on Lyonnaise Potato (P1,400 on its own), Grilled Chilean Sea Bass with Truffle Clam Sauce (P1,100), and Lamb Cutlets with Cardamon Buerre Blanc with Gnocchi (P2,100 for two persons)

Valentine’s Menu @ Massimo, Tagaytay

Although, this is also the smoking section where you could savor tabako smoke if you are lucky 🙂 Anyway, I’ve eaten here almost two years ago and I just started my blog January of 2005 so I don’t really have a detailed post on this.

Coffee Alamid @ Bag of Beans, Tagaytay

By

You should try out the roasted Coffee Alamid which has a sweet, chocolatey aroma that heightens the senses — light and naturally sweet. What makes this amazingly expensive is that the coffee beans are digested by the Philippine civet (a cat) which ferments the coffee beans and excreted as whole beans. … By the way, Bag of Beans is along the main highway in Tagaytay after passing by the Mendez intersection but before reaching the Tagaytay radars or the way going to Antonio’s.

[Bantayan+Malapascua #5] Videoke ala Bantayan!

By

We tasted them earlier in the day during merienda, and it was a home made pizza delight 🙂 This is communal videoke style and oh boy, we are glad that we are the only people in this resto– as if we rented the whole place for P500 sing-all-night!
… The team (L-R Francis, Chris, Carlo, Ethel, and Noel) just starting to select the songs 🙂 Carlo the bartender serves the grande size red horse– for most of us this is the first time we ever attempted to drink red horse. … All of us are singing all our favorite songs and even Ethel who claims not to sing in videoke, enjoyed singing ala Kitchie Nadal 🙂 Francis (the guy far left) is the only songer among all of us.

[Bantayan+Malapascua #4] a Chinese Dinner @ Santa Fe Beach Club

By

When you are in the island, you can’t help it but miss the comforts of Manila Style living and sometimes crave for that chinese cuisine. … The only issue with Santa Fe to my point of view is that it is near the pier so the beach is actually dirty with oil and some debris.
…Thanks to Santa Fe Beach Resort, for making this available in Bantayan Island 🙂 Chopsuey 🙂 I know these are simple dishes but if you are in the island, these are so delicious 🙂 Sweet & Sour Fish!

Cliff House, Tagaytay — US Ambiance in a Tagaytay Setting :)

By

The Left side of Cliff House comprises of Fire Lake Grill, My Philippines which is a pinoy souvenir shop, and Cafe Breton soon to open in March. … You might want to check it out: Domicillo. homestore. gallery. bar Unit-6 Cliffhouse, General Emilio Aguinaldo highway, Maharlika East, Tagaytay City Tel# +63 46 413-2093 Mobile# +63 917 805-7516 How to get to Cliffhouse? … Once you get past the Antonio’s grill, Mile hi Diner, Carlos Pizza, etc., this is along the same row of restaurants before you reach the fork road of Petron Station.

Paul Huang’s Fire Lake Grill @ Cliff House, Tagaytay

By

This is a recommended salad and the dressing is tasty and delicious with every bite of the greens…to achieve the “it” taste, you have to combine everything from the beef to the cheese, tomato and the lettuce. … (but expensive though considering the beef slice and the prawn size– only my wife ate this and she was very satisfied but somebody who complains a lot about how food is cooked.) … I love the pineapple with the candied citrus peel taste while my wife loved the combination of the basket and ice cream, it was like eating peanut brittle with ice cream.

[Bantayan+Malapascua #3] What to do in Bantayan?!

By

It costs P270 for 1 kilo which would sell for P250/ half kilo in Cebu City. a Photo Session is a must in the beach and you can spend your late afternoon swimming and taking photos. One thing good about Kota Beach is that it is in the tip of the Santa Fe, Island where you can walk to the left going to Marni’s Beach Resort or the right going to the other undeveloped resorts. … 1 San Mig Bottle entitles you to 2 songs, while 1 Red Horse Grande entitles you to 5 songs) This was my first time to drink Red Horse and I fell in love with its sweet taste.

Opium Bed @ Buon Giorno, Cliff House, Tagaytay

By

I’d recommend the food except for the dessert and the wines. (the risotto was around 250, the chicken was 400 [but that’s their specialty], but on the whole, the dishes cost around 150-250 each) (pls don’t get the desserts! … If you’ll eat in BuonGiorno, you SHOULD have that seat reserved.” (review by grace) We decided to eat @ Fire Lake Grill (I’ll share in a separate post) instead and we had a firm resolution to go back and reserve this Opium Bed when we eat here @ Buon Giorno.
…So you need to reserve when eating here or arrive early 🙂 This is a view of the kitchen, and by the looks of it, the menu is well prepared 🙂 I can’t wait to eat here 🙂 Buon Giorno!
