Hold your breath... and start screaming!
Literally be on top of the trees and enjoy the different adrenaline-pumping activities at the Tree Top Adventure, Subic Branch. This is a must for me when in Subic.
Tree Drop Adventure (Php 150/ person)
My favorite activity here’s the Tree Drop Adventure. This is the shortest but most thrilling activity. I climbed up, geared up and crossed the bridge on top of the trees to get to the Tree Top Adventure Station. It’s only 60 ft. high, but from the edge of the station looking down at the man who’s supposed to “catch” me, it seemed so much higher.
First, they asked me to step off the station’s edge which was the hardest part for me to do. I held on to a rope while hanging from the harness. Facedown, my heart started beating faster. I could see how high I was and knew this was going to be a sudden drop. Would I hit the ground?
That question kept popping in my head. I had to have faith that everything’s safe. I let go of the rope and at the count of three I was free-falling. Everything happened so fast. After a few seconds it was done. I didn’t hit the ground. Whew! What a rush!
Interactive Free Fall Adventure (Php 250/ person)
My second favorite’s the Interactive Free Fall Adventure. Three persons can all take part of this simultaneously making it even more enjoyable. The harness is attached to the metal bar on top and there’s another metal bar that you can hold on to. This is done with a standing position. You can actually let go of the bar because you’re strapped safely anyway. But, my hands wouldn’t let go. We were pulled 90 feet up I believe. And then, without warning, it was free fall. Then it stopped and we were slowly pulled up again. After a few seconds, it was another drop. This went on several times and each time we were screaming.
Silver Surfer (Php 250/ person)
High above the ground two people can position themselves at opposite ends of the pole while standing. It’s kind of like see-saw. It’s motorized and you can look down below to feel the height.
When it started moving, it was fun, but I knew there still was a catch. It moved faster and then suddenly stopped! We were swinging and see-sawing so high above the ground. I could feel my hands release cold sweat. Each sudden stop was just thrilling.
Superman Ride (Php 200/ person)
Soar from tree to tree, Superman style. The Superman Ride’s a zipline positioned facedown. A metal bar called the carrier is positioned below the armpits which allowed me to raise my arms forward with ease.
Canopy Ride (Php 350/ person)
This is the most relaxing ride of all, the Canopy Ride. From up to 100 feet above the ground you can just appreciate the beauty of the trees and take a good top view of the place. It moves slowly and this cable ride is the perfect activity after the first four heart pumping adventures.
Tree Top Adventure’s Assistant Operations Manager Ferdinand Arellano says this is the place to experience all sorts of activities that can help one conquer his or her fear of heights. They can help you challenge yourself with their adrenaline-pumping activities.
When you avail of their packages, you can have a discounted price. This is highly recommended if you want to try all the activities. The rates listed above may change without prior notice.
