Cocktails are a hit these days, and every resto seems to have its own version of the Mojito.

In our food markets where we don't serve beer, Mocktail Republic's alcohol-free cocktail innovation is a hit. We like the Apple Mojito with real apple bits and Mango Margarita, especially my boys. :)  They kept on going back to the Mocktail Republic booth. Thanks for the overflowing drinks!

Book them now as their schedule gets pretty tight these days!

ORGANIKKA surprised a lot of foodies during the Ultimate Taste Test @Soderno. How could a vegetable juice taste that yummy?

You can now enjoy drinking Ampalaya or Malunggay juice or their Four seasons version (Four vegetables in one juice drink).

Finally, we were able to track them down, and they joined the UTT series. :)

Liquor-flavored ice cream -- what's not to like? :)

My favorite was the Kahlua-flavored Russian Winter and the Vodka+Chili combination of Chili Manjaro.  Good job, Frisch Liquor Ice Cream team!

ManilaQ's Bagwang is bagnet in bacon form and can be cut into pieces and enjoyed just like chicharon.

It has its own unique appeal, and foodies continue to rave about it! They now have Bagwang Sisig and Pinoy Burrito versions. :)  Word of caution, eat in moderation.

Personally, I like ManilaQ's Fish Ham. You get something healthy while still enjoying the ham flavor and texture.

For foodies who love pizza and empanada, you've got to try the Panzarotti from Mama Lou's Italian Kitchen!

Imagine a pizza dough folded to form a big empanada with mozzarella cheese, pomodoro/ alfredo sauce, vegetables and meat inside. It's deep fried and served with oozing hot insides.  Your hot meal on the go!

Thank you to Mama Lou's for introducing this Italian street food to Manila! :)

I'm still surprised with all the ice cream flavor innovations that consistently comes out of Merry Moo's Ice Creamery. They are a four-time winner in the UTT series.

I initially thought that combining Chili + Bacon + Tablea was a crazy idea, but the flavors blended well together to keep chili and chocolate lovers craving it. Merry Moo credits Ryan Fernandez and Sharwin Tee for this awesome flavor (see story below).

Also, many foodies loved the new Strawberry Shortcake because it's deliciously made and easily appreciated by kids and kids-at-heart. :)

PURE FLAVOR's Artisan Sorbet!

Pure Flavor's Artisan Sorbet is Hizon's Catering's latest innovation, introducing a higher quality of sorbet that can rival ice creams and gelato.

It is as creamy as ice cream without the milk, and you can really taste the full flavor of the ingredient. The texture is smooth because of a special process and not as icy like most sorbets.

I personally like the Valrhona Chocolate Sorbet, which can be mistaken for a yummy Chocolate Ice Cream. A lot of the foodies like the Pistachio Sorbet because they can really taste the Pistachio flavor.

Ultimate Taste Test 9.0 @Soderno - Successful First UTT in the South (despite the Mesocyclone)

(ATTN 8/9/2012: Mezza Norte@Ayala Technohub will  be closed today Aug.9  to give time for the vendors to recover and to give way to relief efforts. Distrito in Makati will resume operations this Thursday (Aug. 9) and Mercato Centrale will resume operations tomorrow Friday (Aug. 10).  We are also accepting donations (non-perishable food and clothes) for the flood victims in Mercato and Soderno as of August 8. Soderno@Molito will be closed for tent maintenance because it was damaged by the heavy winds and rains last weekend.)
