Here is an interesting take on Spam...

Served sushi-style, the slice of Spam sits on a bed of rice wrapped in seaweed. I personally like it served with Wasabi Mayo.

It is a simple concept based on a good understanding of what Filipinos love.

The first time I heard about Inutak, images of soft brain flashed through my head.

But I learned that it is actually one of the unique and popular kakanin treats from Taguig. I'm glad that Kristine's family decided to brand and market it as one of the best kakanin in Manila.

Sticky rice (galapong), coconut milk and sugar make up this unique dessert. Think of it as a very smooth, ube-flavored bibingka with an almost-mochi type of consistency. I think it would go perfectly well with vanilla ice cream.

Thanks to the people of Taguig for proudly introducing Inutak to more Filipinos! :)

Trixie was a bit nervous introducing her Bacolod Sisig version to the foodie market, which is more familiar with the Kapampangan type of Sisig. She didn't have to worry though -- it got the foodies' approval during the recent Ultimate Taste Test 7.0.

Her sisig has a unique taste. You can have it in the original pork or squid version. It can be bought frozen, and then prepared and served in mini shells to make a great appetizer this Christmas season.

Congratulations, Trixie! Let's support her by introducing her Sassy Sisig to the rest of the foodie market. :)

We've tasted a lot of sausages in our food markets, and the Swiss Gourmet brand still stood out among the different food choices in Ultimate Taste Test 7.0.

Although a bit commercialized (considering they are already available in the supermarkets), Swiss Gourmet was able to make the foodies happy that night.

Foodies were raving about the Sirloin Steak and Saikoro during the UTT7.0. They are Wagyu Steaks imported from Japan, which are sold directly by Mediaado Corporation.

We love the flavor and softness of the meat. It's simply perfect for any home celebration this season. You can ask them how to prepare and cook it at home.

In a market crowded with various kinds of brownies, food for the gods, and revel bars during the Christmas season, a one-of-a-kind brownie stood out -- Jack Brownies.

It's a different kind of "spiked" brownies, this time using Jack Daniel's Whiskey. Admittedly, it is a bit polarizing since people are either fans of the Jack Daniel's taste or not. I actually prefer their Jack flavor over the Absolut Vanilla Brownie.

It is a bit heavy, fudgy and has an almost bread-like texture that is soaked with chocolate and Jack Daniel's. I love it paired with either coffee or Cerveza Negra.
