Merry Moo is one of the best Artisan Ice Creams in Manila -- even better than the commercialized ice cream versions out there.

Now a 3-time Ultimate Taste Test winner, Merry Moo finally takes first place in UTT 7.0:

• Top 13 in Ultimate Taste Test 5.0 (3.71 rating) with  Earl Grey Tea and Sea Salt Caramel
• Top 4 in Rockwell Ultimate Taste Test 6.0 (3.94 rating) with Milo and Brown Bread Flavor

The Christmas flavors of Queso de Bola and Food for the Gods were perfectly recreated in ice cream form in time for this Holiday season. I'm always impressed with Merry Moo, and it is certainly pulling its weight in taking Artisan Ice Cream to a whole new level in Manila. :)

Mio Gelati is best known for its gelato innovations in Midnight Mercato, offering not only the classic cream- and fruit-based flavors but also alcoholic ones and special premium flavors.

Recently, they introduced the first Mio Gelati Mobile in Distrito and they presented the Mochilato (gelato nicely tucked in a mochi ball) in UTT 7.0. I love it because of its soft mochi cover and delicious gelato taste.

I personally love the tenderness and rich wine sauce of the Beef Bourguignon.

We've taste-tested a lot of cakes and dessert items in Mercato, but we haven't come across much treats like the Cassava Tartlet from Joan & Jane Cake Bites. It is something different and definitely worth raving about immediately after your first bite.

You've got to try their Salted Caramel Cassava Tartlets topped with chopped cashews to balance the taste. This is a refreshing twist to the usual cassava tart.

They also introduced their beef pot pie and custard cake in UTT7.0, but the tartlets were the ones that left a lasting impression.

Edible Options is one of the best selling stalls in Mercato, Soderno and Distrito. Ging, the powerful force behind it, is a respected food entrepreneur. She specializes in good quality food products that are unbranded most of the time so that she can sell them at a good cost.

She is also popularly known for her buy 1 take 1 sausages, which got a 3.77 rating in UTT 5.0.

In UTT 7.0, she introduced her Christmas food offerings -- Chicken Galantina, Ham and her baked goodies such as Food for the Gods, Rum cake, Carrot cake. I personally liked her Chicken Galantina, which is something you can order for Noche Buena or Media Noche.

There are a lot of people who want to introduce Fish N' Chips in our food markets, and Fillet N' Dips is starting to become known in Mercato and Soderno as the place to get a good one.

Instead of the fish fillet, some people prefer the fish fingers version for easier sharing (like the chicken fingers popularized by Friday's).
