Kristina's Inutak is an inspiring example of food entrepreneurs embracing their heritage by showcasing their own sweet local delicacy (in this case Taguig), packaging it well and marketing through local food markets and social media.

So, what's Inutak like? Marry the smoothness of tibuk tibuk (but use coconut milk instead of carabao's milk) and the flavors of sapin sapin, and you'll get this wonderful treat that is best eaten warm and topped with homemade vanilla ice cream. :) Most foodies prefer the original flavor.

It's a two-time winner of the Ultimate Taste Test series (UTT7.0 and UTT8.0). Congratulations!

3-Cheese Arancini Rice Balls (35/pc, P100 for 3pcs.). Parmesan Risotto with Molten Cheddar Mozzarella in the middle and topped with Yummy Aligue Sauce!

Foodies at the Ultimate Taste Test 8 loved these bite-sized, soft and tasty creations. The just-right aligue flavor went well with the molten cheese.

From the original Iloilo creators of the Crave Burger comes a budding Japanese quick-service resto concept offering beef cooked teppanyaki-style and fried chicken with a Japanese-inspired sauce.

I personally like the flavor of the sauces and the quality of the beef used. It's no wonder they had one of the popular stalls during UTT8 Global Gastronomy.

Merry Moo is one of the best Artisan Ice Creams in Manila -- even better than the commercialized ice cream versions out there.

Now a 3-time Ultimate Taste Test winner, Merry Moo finally takes first place in UTT 7.0:

The Christmas flavors of Queso de Bola and Food for the Gods were perfectly recreated in ice cream form in time for this Holiday season. I'm always impressed with Merry Moo, and it is certainly pulling its weight in taking Artisan Ice Cream to a whole new level in Manila. :)

Mio Gelati is best known for its gelato innovations in Midnight Mercato, offering not only the classic cream- and fruit-based flavors but also alcoholic ones and special premium flavors.

Recently, they introduced the first Mio Gelati Mobile in Distrito and they presented the Mochilato (gelato nicely tucked in a mochi ball) in UTT 7.0. I love it because of its soft mochi cover and delicious gelato taste.

This is an interesting new discovery in the Ultimate Taste Test series.

Most of the foodies were raving about this Five-Hour Roasted Japanese Lechon by The Specialty Kitchen that night. It's indeed a wonderful way to address the Filipinos' love for Lechon. It's tender, crispy and has Japanese glaze -- Sarap!

They also served this creamy gelatinous dessert called Black Sambo.
