YUMMY SOY Philippines: The Singapore Soy Milk Brand Craze in Manila?

Instagram

7/11 UPDATE: You can now drive-through by ordering in advance (+632 555-8334) and pick up your order within the 15 minutes grace period of the parking lot :)

Yummy Soy-1.jpg
Yummy Soy™ is a popular Soy Milk and Beancurd brand from Singapore. It opened its first local outlet in Robinsons Place Manila last March and a stand-alone store at the Fort Strip beside K-PUB BBQ last June.

It offers a refreshing treat and healthier dessert/snack alternative to milk tea and yogurt selections.

There's definitely a demand for healthier products, but I'm not sure if its "silky smooth, melts-in-your-mouth chilled beancurd" is enough to create another Soy craze here.

BANANA LEAF APOLO: Indian Food We Love in Little India @VisitSingapore

Instagram
Banana Leaf Apollo-39.jpg
One of the most recommended places to eat in Little India is The Banana Leaf Apolo. It's like a turo-turo Indian fast food joint but with a resto format. It's the perfect lunch spot after the long and appetizing LITTLE INDIA WALK: Dhobis, Saris & a Spot of Curry.

Here's a preview of the Banana Leaf Apolo experience in Little India, Singapore:

WEE NAM KEE: Hainanese Chicken Rice now uses WNK Singapore's Yellow Chicken! @WeeNamKeePH

Instagram

Read First: Wee Nam Kee's Hainanese Chicken Rice Now in Manila!

The NEW Wee Nam Kee-42.jpg

Finally, Wee Nam Kee has imported the Yellow Chicken, considered the Wagyu of Chickens, for its Hainanese Chicken Rice! This was a response to a customer suggestion on importing the same chicken (sourced from Malaysia) originally used by Wee Nam Kee Singapore.

The Wee Nam Kee we love just got better, and they even added signature drinks and desserts to complete the dining experience. You've got to try the Yellow Chicken Difference. :)

(Note: Yellow Chicken is on a limited run from May 1 to June 30 at WNK Glorietta and Serendra.)

BOON TONG KEE in Manila?!

Instagram

Boon Tong Kee-17.jpg

Finally, Boon Tong Kee -- my favorite Hainanese Chicken in Singapore (next to Wee Nam Kee) -- is now here in Manila.

It quietly opened in Mall of Asia, and some say it is not as good as the one in Singapore.

Here's what we have to say about Boon Tong Kee...

LAS FLORES: Modern Spanish Resto by (former) Barcino + Andilana (Spain) Group

Instagram

Las Flores-9.jpg

LAS FLORES, which means "The Flowers", is a collaboration between the former Barcino owners and the popular Andilana group of restaurants in Barcelona. They flew in a Catalan chef to help create an authentic modern Spanish restaurant here in Manila.

My P&G friend Mon Gloria started the Spanish Wine Bar Resto called Barcino. When he moved to P&G Singapore, his Spanish partners (Uri, Dani and Sergi) took over the business and expanded it to a true Spanish restaurant experience.

If you are looking for a different type of Spanish cuisine from your usual Mestizo Spanish food in Manila, you've got to try Las Flores.
