SOLIBAO is a home-grown Filipino restaurant established in 1972, now with 6 branches around Baguio and still counting. Its name was inspired by the drums used by the Igorot in the Cordilleras. It is best known for its yummy Filipino recipes like Pancit Palabok, Kare-Kare and Puto Bumbong.
We tried the Solibao which is the in-house resto of the Heritage Mansion. It was my first time to tried Solibao, and here is our experience:
Flavors of Baguio: Discover Baguio, One Bite at a Time!
Catanduanes holds a special place in my heart because this is where our roots are. My mom was born into the Soria and Rojas families in Bato, Catanduanes.
I remember visiting Catanduanes when we were still kids and I was excited to go back and explore the southern part of the island from San Andres to Virac to Bato, and all the way to Puraran in Baras.
I love Catanduanes food specially the Mud Crabs and fresh seafood, Pili Nut (which is like Macadamia nut), the Catanduanes Cacao, and different kakanins.
Food in Bicol uses a lot of coconut milk (gata) but those in Catanduanes are not as spicy as in other Bicol towns.
I also love the scenic picnic lunch by the beach and boodle fight in Sea Breeze.
Your Catanduanes Trip is not complete without trying these Catanduanes food:
One of the top surfing destinations in the country today is Puraran in Baras, Catanduanes.
It is home to “The Majestic Wave” that top surfers from all over the world visit during the surfing season, July to October.
For non-surfers like us, we love Puraran Beach because the beach area is wide and not crowded, the beach-surfer food is yummy, and you can really smell and feel what clean air is all about. Just be careful because the island life in Puraran will seduce you to stay for a couple more days.
Puraran is the top destination in Catanduanes -- here's a photo essay of our experience:
Paragliding in Manila started 4 years ago (with only 20 paragliders to date in Manila). It started to become popular when the Main Fly Site in Carmona, Cavite was discovered by Jonathan Thayamora, a 2nd- generation paraglider. The other paragliding flysite is in Saranggani.
Recently, Buko Raymundo - an Airsport Specialist, offered tandem Paragliding in the Carmona flysite to those who want to experience the Paragliding High in Manila :)
2013 is definitely the year of Paragliding in Manila :) Check out our Tandem Paragliding experience:
We love to travel and we love to collect souvenir family photos during our trips.
One of our best family travel photos is a 360 photo in the family suite of Bluewater Panglao resort. The 360 was created by Milo Timbol of 360philippines.com :)
Here are our favorite Philippine travel photos with the family...
A lot of festival enthusiasts believe that Dinagyang is one of the BEST Festivals in the Philippines.
Although the celebration still has that quaint, provincial city-feel, the Ati-Ati dance productions are among the best that I've seen in street dance festivals in the Philippines. They are the Grand Champions in the Aliwan Festival (Manila-based competition for all the street dance festivals) in 2010 and 2011.
Dinagyang is the best time to go to Iloilo!
Here are the things you need to know to have an awesome experience in DINAGYANG:
Maria Cristina Falls, a 320-ft high waterfall along Agus River, is the most famous landmark of this City of Majestic Waterfalls.
The park is open from 9am to 4pm. The best time to go is when the waterfall is in its full glory at 12noon when the water is not used for electricity generation.
