As featured in BEST OF TAGUIG: 10 Most Awesome NEW Restaurants in BGC & Taguig 2014!

VA BENE Pasta Deli-25.jpg

VA BENE is a yummy artisan Italian pasta deli by Chef Massimo and Carolyn Veronesi. Originally located at Petron Gas Station on the corner of Edsa and Pasay Road, it is best known for serving what many consider the Best Italian Pasta in the Metro

After 3 years of operation, they finally opened their 2nd branch near the BGC Cinemas, with a bigger kitchen, a bigger dining area, and more offerings. We recently visited the new branch with our La Salle Engineering batchmates and we all loved it!

Here's our Va Bene BGC experience...

MOTORINO Authentic Napoletana Pizza in Manila (A Review) @Motorino

MOTORINO is a Neapolitan-style pizzeria founded by Belgian Chef Mathieu Palombino in 2008 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It has branches in the East Village in New York City,  Soho, Wan Chai in Hong Kong, and now finally, in Manila.

Thank you to Trisha Santos and her partners from the Basil Group for bringing an authentic Napoletana Pizza in Manila.

We've already tried it a few times. Here's what we think...

GINO's BRICK OVEN PIZZA MAKATI: Burrata, Homemade Pasta, Neapolitan Pizza with Spicy Honey! @jutey_boy

As featured in MAKATI: 10 Most Awesome NEW Restaurants in Makati 2014! @MakeItMakati

GINO'S Brick Oven Pizza-18.jpg

GINO's BRICK OVEN PIZZA is a Neapolitan-style Pizzeria originally from Katipunan, by passionate Filipino food entreprenuers Jutes & Cello Templo (of Cello's Donuts fame). The name of the resto is a tribute to their son, Gino.

The Makati branch is the Gino's 2.0 version. The taste is so authentic, some people think it's owned by Italians.

We loved their Burratta, homemade pasta, and Neapolitan pizza! Check out Gino's...

THE GLASS DOOR: Italian Resto Bar (formerly Chef Laudico's) @TheGlassDoorPH

The GLASS DOOR-1.jpg

THE GLASS DOOR is an Italian Resto Bar conceptualized by the Lazatin-Villonco family. It can be found in the former location of Chef Laudico's Bistro Filipino in BGC.

It's a hangout place for yuppies who love to drink after work , enjoy simple comfort food, and listen to cool music.

My partners and I -- yuppies once -- were recently at The Glass Door and here's what we think about it...

Finally, Chef Chris' original Panizza has arrived along the Jupiter Foodie St. in Makati!

RECESS is inspired by its co-owner Scott Tan's favorite time in school, and is highlighted by the school-themed interior design of the resto. The Contemporary Asian-Fresh Market cuisine is created by Chef Chris Locher, one of our favorite Italian chefs in Manila. :)

TAVOLATA: La Trattoria di Abaca - One of the BEST Italian Restaurants in Cebu! @TavolataCebu @theAbacaGroup

TAVOLATA is an Italian bistro that serves simple Italian dishes from The Abaca Group (known for really yummy Cebu restaurants like Maya Mexican Restaurant and Abaca Restaurant in Mactan.)

Its name means "to gather around a table", and the restaurant is designed to be a great place to hang out with friends or to celebrate special occasions.

It uses the finest ingredients from Italy like Finestra in Solaire, and has that informal feel, stylish ambiance and cult following like Wildflour in Manila.

It is worth flying to Cebu from Manila just to eat here. :)

ARIA CUCINA ITALIANA (Revisited): Our ARIA Favorites and Kids' Menu @AriaCucina

Read first: ARIA Mania in Manila?

Aria Revisited-48.jpg

We love trying out new restaurants, but there are times when we want to revisit places that we've been to simply because they're yummy. One of our favorite Italian places in Boracay and in Manila is Aria because of the delicious pizza, pasta and salad combinations.

Recently, they added innovative cocktail drinks by Tim Walters and also a Kids' Menu.

Here is our updated Aria experience...
