MAKANSUTRA MANILA: Foodie Date Guide to @Makansutra (A Review) @SMMegamall

As featured 10 Most Awesome NEW (Franchised) Restaurants in Manila 2016!

Makansutra-47.jpg

MAKANSUTRA, the famous Singaporean Hawker Market by K.F. Seetoh, has finally re-opened in Manila together with local partners J.J. Yulo and Chef Him Uy de Baron.

It first launched in Manila Ocean park in 2009 and re-opened after the successful 2016 World Street Food Congress held in Manila. Makansutra is the famed food bible in Singapore, featuring heritage street food. Makan means "to eat" in Malay, and Sutra means "string, thread" in Sanskrit.

It can be daunting to visit here because of the variety of choices--over 70 dishes and 11 street stalls in a food hall inspired by the Singaporean hawker market.

Here's a guide to help you on your foodie date in Makansutra in SM Megamall...

MAKANSUTRA MANILA
Unit 209 AB, 2nd floor, Building A, SM Megamall Mandaluyong City
Operating Hours: 11am to 11 pm daily

10 Life Lessons on Living Awesomely in Your 30's!

Favor: For those who are 47+ years old and above, hope you can answer this survey on Life Lessons on Living Awesomely in Your 40's

Life Lessons (Copyright: Prometeus / 123RF Stock Photo)

When I turned 30 in 2004, I had married my hottie college crush, worked for the biggest multinational company in the Philippines, and lived the life I envisioned after graduating from university.

But something was missing. My life was not fulfilling. There was a nagging feeling that I was being called for a higher purpose.

At the same time, I felt a baton was being passed on to our generation. The battle of the generation before us was the fight for Freedom from Dictatorship. In a sense, that generation succeeded in winning independence but failed in making a lasting difference during the transition.

It was our generation's responsibility to make things happen for the Philippines. We felt that we had to jump start the journey to becoming a First World nation. We took the baton, accepted the responsibility, and met the challenge head-on.

After 10 years, I can't help but reflect on the life lessons I've learned along the way. From quitting my day job and deciding to do full-time blogging for Our Awesome Planet, to conceptualizing the Ultimate Taste Test event, to creating the Mercato Centrale Night Markets with my partner RJ, to Coaching and Mentoring Entrepreneurs in the Maven Secrets Program, and to becoming one of the top food & travel blogs not only in the Philippines and Southeast Asia but in the world--it's been quite a journey so far.

Here are my 10 Life Lessons on Living Awesomely in Your 30's...

Our Awesome Story! A Comic Biography

Our Awesome Story - by Jose Gamboa

JB Gamboa is a comic artist famous for Comic Biographies. He is known in the artists' circle for his first comic biographies entitled, Laban. A Love Story and  Pacquiao: Winning In & Out of the Ring.

We collaborated with JB for a comic biography of OAP, entitled Our Awesome Story.

We wanted to document and share our love story to our boys and to the future DIAZ generations.

A lot of people are curious about how Rache and I met, and we usually only reveal that story to our closest friends and family.

As we celebrate the 9th year anniversary of our marriage, we wanted to share the story to our OAP readers and friends. Thank you so much for all your loving support throughout these years!
