GEISHA, an Indian-owned Japanese Vegetarian Restaurant You'll Love :)

Geisha-14.jpg

At first, we found the concept of Geisha a bit strange -- an Indian-owned Japanese restaurant, patronized mostly by Filipinos and Indians, that is known for its vegetarian dishes.

It's the higher-end version of Red Kimono, with an elegant ambiance but relatively affordable menu.

Chef's Lab Potions and Kitchen Test Food

Chef's Lab-16.jpg
Chef's Lab, Chef Bruce Lim's third restaurant, is located in Burgos Circle. It focuses more on new kitchen test recipes and offers test tube shots with different love potions and a relatively affordable basic menu that still focuses on modern Filipino cuisine.

We decided to try out the new creations at Chef's Lab. Here's our experience...

ARIA Mania in Manila?

Aria Cucina Italiana in Manila!

ARIA was the talk of the town when it first opened in D'Mall Boracay in 2003. Foodies raved about its homemade pasta and wood-fire oven pizzas (see: Top5 Bora Restos!, and What's New in Boracay in 2010?). After 9 years, it finally opened its doors in Manila. :)

We're curious to know if it would create the same buzz among foodies amidst really good Italian restaurants in the metro. Cyma Boracay's expansion to Manila was very successful, setting up shop in various malls.

As for Aria, it decided to expand to a super high-end mall with relatively higher prices--will it click? Will we see Aria Mania in Manila?

La Girolle's Tasting Menu by Chef Ian Padilla

Review Shortlinkhttp://oap.ph/LaGirolle | QR Code: http://oap.ph/LaGirolleQRCode

La Girolle-41.jpg

It was Chef Ian Padilla's dream to open his own restaurant. After 11 years of training (which included working in a 3-star Michelin restaurant in France, a restaurant stint in the now-closed Mezzaluna, and opening Fireplace in Malate), Chef Ian finally opened his own La Girolle last October.

La Girolle is named after the Chanterelle mushrooms he used to clean in a French kitchen, day in and day out, as punishment for not doing it right the first time. From being a humble seasonal mushroom, "La Girolle" is also now a French Fine Dining restaurant in BGC.

It was the perfect backdrop for meeting our good friend Luisa, who's visiting from Sydney...

SutrA Restaurant and Bar is the first restaurant (but the second establishment after Jamba Juice) that opened in Bonifacio High Street Central.

BHS Central promises to provide higher-end dining experiences from flagship restaurants of restaurant chains or signature resto concepts from known chefs.

This is the 4th restaurant concept from the Nand and Kevin Prasad tandem, which includes Duo Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Zuni and Asya Filipino Asian Restaurant.

SutrA promises an exotic experience "that excites the 5 senses throughout your dining experience".

We decided to hold the Christmas Dinner of our family in SutrA to get a first-hand experience of the BHS Central promise...

Building St. Michael the Archangel Church @ BGC a Square Meter at a Time!

St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church-36.jpg

Here is a chance of a lifetime for our generation to help build the Catholic Church of Bonifacio Global City, dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel.

The church will be located along 39th St., North Bonifacio Triangle. This is different from the St. Michael the Archangel Chapel along MRT Avenue (formerly Bayani Road).

Here is a sneak peek of how the church would look like:
