Click Play: The Social Media Festival, brought popular YouTube and social media celebrities Ryan Higa, Ki Hong Lee, Cimorelli, David Choi, and Sam & Colby on stage for live interviews and performances last Sunday (Nov. 22 ) at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia.
Here's what happened at the first ever Click Play Event...
Sam & Colby started the show with their wacky stunts and dance moves on stage.
Both started out as just two band camp boys and have since gained popularity on Vine.
Sam & Colby dared to try exotic Filipino delicacies like kwek-kwek, sampaloc, and balut and surprisingly loved most of it. ;)
The Cimorelli sisters sang their hearts out all the way from California.
The Cimorelli Sisters, with nearly 800 million views and over 3 million subscribers on YouTube, gave their fans a make-over while being blindfolded.
Fans were thrilled when Maze Runner actor Ki Hong Lee stepped up on stage. He is a recurring actor on Youtube channel Wong Fu Productions' short films like "Take It Slow", where he played an awkward teenager attending his first prom, "This Is How We Never Met" and "She Has A Boyfriend", one with over 6 million views to date.
Singer-songwriter David Choi returned to Manila to serenade us with his soothing voice. Fame found Choi after posting his first music video on YouTube, entitled YouTube: A Love Song. It received an overwhelming half-a-million views in just a week.
One lucky girl almost cried when David asked her to join him on stage for the last song. :)
The event ended with Ryan Higa--also popularly called NigaHiga--best known for his comedic vlogs and short films, and who recently hit the 15-million subscriber mark.
Joining Ryan Higa on stage was his crew Sean Fujiyoshi and Derrick Dereleek, dancing to a mash-up of his popular songs Nice Guys and Skrillex to name a few.
Congratulations to Karpos Multimedia for staging the first ever Click Play!
The fans had tons of fun meeting their favorite online celebrities live, but we do suggest that Ryan Higa have a longer stage time on the next Click Play event. :)
Clicky Play Tips:
1. Be sure to go super early because the lines are long even for VIP ticket holders.
2. Eat up and hydrate. The call time is at 4:00 pm but the show starts at around 6 pm until 9:40 pm. Though they sell food and drinks inside it's kinda hard to move around and leave your spot.
3. Wear comfortable shoes. You'll be standing the whole time.
4. Brace yourselves--it's going to be very crowded, especially with a room full of screaming fans.
5. Go to the restroom before the gates are open. :)
