10 Most Awesome Live Escape Game / Mystery Room Experience in Manila in 2014!

I love Live Escape Game / Mystery Rooms ever since we tried Mystery Manila’s Justice for Manila. It’s very addicting and a great challenging bonding session with your friends and family. Have you tried it?

It’s great to have two competing pioneers BreakOut Philippines by OutBreak Manila vs. Mystery Manila that continuous to elevate this live game genre in Manila. We tried all the Mystery Rooms and we solved most of it except for BreakOut Philippine’s Adarna’s Lair. My personal favorite is Rebecca’s Room by Mystery Manila.

Here’s our top 10 Most Awesome Live Escape Game / Mystery Room Experience in Manila in 2014:

1. ADARNA’S LAIR @BreakOutPH

ADARNA’S LAIR is the hardest Breakout Philippine’s real life escape room game experience. You play as detectives and find a cure for the initial spreading of the Zombie Outbreak in Manila. You only have 45mins until Dr. Adarna arrives or become a zombie bait.

I must admit this was the most challenging room we encountered, but also the most elaborate in terms of production setup and fun in terms of solving the puzzles.

We “almost” solved Adarna’s Lair, and here’s why we failed…

ADARNA’S LAIR
You are a detective trying to discover more about the virus during the initial spreading of the Zombie Outbreak in Manila. Succeeding rumors of Dr. Adarna being involved with the Outbreak, you investigate his house to look for solid evidence and perhaps a way to stop the infection before it becomes too late.

Upon entering the premises, you get a feeling you are not alone. You start hearing sounds you only hear in nightmares. Can you find the information you need and breakout before you become zombie bait?

2. REBECCA’S ROOM @MysteryManila

REBECCA’S ROOM is the horror-inspired Mystery Manila Room where you solve the mysterious case of Rebecca Rubio. I must admit, it was a bit scary and challenging to solve in the dark, but also exciting because it uses NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to get the clues.

Play the role of spirit questers out to give peace to Rebecca’s soul.
You are given 60 minutes inside Rebecca’s Room to solve the mystery behind her sudden disappearance.
While inside the room, you find that there is more behind her disappearance. You even experience some paranormal events…what could these mean?

3. OUTBREAK ASSAULT! @OutBreakManila

OUTBREAK ASSAULT is a Zombie Survival Simulation, where a team of ten players, are geared up and sent on a mission inside a 6-storey abandoned building. Inside, the team will be given a set of tasks to complete while facing hordes of zombies.

The OAP team were really excited to experience this first of a kind Zombie Survival Simulation.

4. ESCAPED FROM TERMINUS @BreakOutPH

All roads led to Terminus and our team was trapped in a container van with a chained zombie!

5. WORLD OF WIZARDRY @MysteryManila

WORLD OF WIZARDRY is a Harry Potter-inspired mystery room by Mystery Manila where you can play out your wizard fantasies of mixing potions, conjuring spells, and unlocking the secrets of the room.

It’s so much fun, even if you aren’t a Potterhead…

As a trainee wizard, you and your friends are tasked to steal the magical time turner and stop Sidius from his evil master plan that will change the world of wizardry.

6. ROOM 13 @BreakOutPH

ROOM 13 is a Breakout Philippine’s real life escape room game experience where you and your friends are trapped and need to escape from a motel room in the middle of nowhere within 45 minutes.

The synergy of time pressure, trashy motel room design and eerie music made it feel so real and challenging.

ROOM 13
You and your friends check in at an old motel after experiencing car troubles in the middle of nowhere and cannot call for help. But this place is giving you the creeps. Something doesn’t feel right. Your group tries to leave the room but the doorknob falls off– and for some reason, you feel like it wasn’t an accident. You try to force your way out but to no luck. You are trapped inside.

Can you find a different way out or will you and your friends be trapped forever?

7. THE PRISON ROOM @BreakOutPH

THE PRISON ROOM is a Breakout Philippine’s escape room where you are locked up inside a prison cell, and you have to solve clues to escape in 45 minutes.

PRISON ROOM
You are a distinguished police officer locked up after being wrongfully framed. For months, you have been plotting your escape but are intercepted by another officer who discovers your plans and knocks you unconscious.

Much later, you wake up to the sound of a prison riot and realize you’re alone in the cell. With the commanding officer gone, you decide to try and escape before the guards return. 45 minutes is all it takes for a riot to clear. Can you remember your notes and breakout in time?

8. SINISTER SENSORIUM @MysteryManila

The Sinister Sensorium is a chained escape room sequel to The Chained Chamber Mystery Room in Libis, where Enigma kidnaps you and removes one of your senses. A maximum of 5 people can play, where 2 are mute, 2 are deaf players, and 1 is blind.

It’s a challenging game of logical reasoning, teamwork, and collaboration. Here’s our SS experience…

SINISTER SENSORIUM
You and your friends have been held captive by the psychopathic killer named Enigma. He has taken away one sense from each of you. It could be your sense of hearing, speaking, or sight.
It’s up to you to escape the room in 60 minutes using your remaining senses.
Unravel the clues and solve the puzzles found inside the room. If you don’t solve the mystery, you
will be left for dead.
The clock is ticking. Solve quickly.

9. BURIED BODIES @MysteryManila

BURIED BODIES is the 4th in the Mystery Manila room series of deranged serial killer, Enigma, where he places his victims in locked caskets and trapping them inside sealed tombs.

Chained Chamber was first in the series, then replaced by Buried Bodies in the Libis branch. Ticking Time Bomb was the second (also in Libis), and the third was Sinister Sensorium in Makati.

BURIED BODIES
Enigma strikes again. The psychopathic killer challenges you to escape from his graveyard using clues and puzzles hidden around the dark cemetery. 10. JUSTICE FOR JAMILA @MysteryManila

MYSTERY MANILA is a simulated game experience that challenges you and a maximum of 5 friends to bring out your inner Sherlock Holmes or Jack Bauer and solve a mystery in 60-90 minutes.

They currently have 3 game room experiences in their flagship store in Libis (Justice for Jamila, The Chained Chamber, and The Ticking Time Bomb) and soon, 2 game rooms in Makati (Rebecca’s Room and The Sinister’s Sensorium).

JUSTICE FOR JAMILA
Jamila Torres is the best private investigator in Manila. When she was about to solve the case for her employer, Mr. Castillo, she was murdered in her office by someone unknown. Now, it is up to you to follow the clues that Jamila left to solve this mystery within 1 hour. Time is of the essence. Good luck.
