TAO EXPEDITION Day 3: Cliff Jumping & Guinto Base Camp (A Photo Essay) @TaoPhilippines

Day 3 was highlighted by cliff jumping, the best lunch ever, and an isolated base camp. Here’s a photo essay of our Day 3 Tao Expedition experience…

Mornings at Buluang Base Camp

I love waking up to awesome beach mornings.

There’s no set schedule. We go when everyone is ready.

We were all a bit tired after a morning game of basketball between us guests and the crew.

We stopped over at Alava Fishing Village to buy some fish and snorkel while we waited.

2nd stop was a snorkeling spot near Dimanlot Island, owned by a German with a Filipina wife.

The water is clear, and the corals are worth seeing.

Finally, our lunch stop was a Cliff Diving Spot in Linipacan!

Imagine swimming towards the cliff, climbing up the rocks to the top, and then jumping 25 feet down into the water!

We stopped near the Linapacan caves. This is one of the most awesome adventure stops of our Tao Expedition.

After cliff jumping, we ate lunch on board the ship, with a view of the beautiful rocks and caves at Linapacan Island.

This is the best Tao Expedition lunch we had throughout the trip–Fresh Crabs!

Salad of mango, pineapple, and singkamas (turnip).

Pinakbet.

The crabs paired deliciously with their signature soy and vinegar sauce!

We also stopped by the ice plant to buy some ice, to keep the fish fresh throughout our journey.

We met with the #TaoExpedition group on board Aira Mae, traveling from El Nido to Coron.

We played Tumbang Frisbee with the other boat’s guests on Cagdanao Island in Linapacan.

It turned out to be a rough game since everyone was competitive.

We sailed into the sunset on our way to the base camp.

We arrived at the Guinto Island base camp in Linapacan. 

There’s no electricity…

…and no water supply… 

…but it has beautiful huts with an awesome view of the sea.

The best part of the day–watching the beautiful Palawan sunset…

…over ice cold San Miguel Beer!

Tao Sundowner anyone?

Dinner was equally awesome…

Grilled big jack fish.

Kalamansi cabbage.

Filipino Food is island food made from the fresh catch of the day, and fresh fruits and vegetables from the market. 

Best eaten on the beach while having awesome conversations.

A bonfire bonding session to end the night…
