CAVIAR Resto & Champagne Bar is an elegant modern European restaurant that showcases Frank van der Walle’s 8-year culinary experience in Europe, and his sommelier brother Bastiaan Van Der Walle‘s well-curated strong wine and scotch list.
It’s the most romantic restaurant in Alabang because of its elaborate interiors and the lovely outdoor setting with vertical gardens.
To celebrate Aidan’s birthday, we treated ourselves to their signature Family-Style Sunday Brunch.
Here’s our Caviar experience…
Caviar is a unique Alabang restaurant located inside Westgate Center in Filinvest. Just look for the “Wagyu Beef Crossing” sign.
I love the sala with fire place and Komodo Dragon guarding the entrance to the restroom.
…and the glass wine cellar separating the dining area on the other.
Caviar takes pride in its excellent selection of wines from all over Europe and their exclusive signature whiskeys from the Six Regions of Scotland.
I love these crystal bottles displays — French Vodka & Cognac (Blue Bottle), Vanilla Liqueur Digestive (Yellow Bottle), Melon Liqueur Digestive (Green Bottle) — in the center of the dining area.
CAVIAR MENU: 2 Courses Sunday Brunch | Family Style Brunch | Dinner A La Carte (Appetizers/ Soup) | Dinner A ala Carte (Fish/ Meat and Game / Grilled Meats) | Lunch A La Carte Appetizers/ Soup | Lunch A La Carte (Pasta’s, Fish, Meat and Game)
They have set menus for Lunch and Dinner and a Sunday Brunch set menu with family style options.
The three boys celebrating Aidan’s 9th birthday at Caviar. 🙂
Just look at these beautiful black leather chairs!
The best tables in the house are these booth tables with a cove setup for added privacy.
They also have a private dining room for special occasions.
In cool weather, I can imagine how lovely it would be to dine here at night amidst the vertical gardens.
Bread Basket served with an Assortment of Jams and Butter
The Family-style brunch started with an assorted of freshly baked breads with jams and butter.
This is a nice idea, but it would have been better if they used fresh orange juice.
A toast to Aidan’s 9th birthday! He’s already excited to turn 10 in 12 months’ time.
Your choice of Fresh Brewed Coffee…
I love the attention to detail of the glasses used, appropriate for each of the drinks.
The coffee and tea are very good. The hot chocolate was a bit diluted and more milky than chocolatey.
Eggs Cooked Any Style (Over Easy, Scrambled, Sunny Side up, Fried Egg)
The scrambled eggs were cooked just the way we like them: a little moist and served with tomato and greens on the side.
Hash Browns, ✮Hot Dutch Mini Pancakes, Smoked Tomatoes, ✮ Double Smoked Bacon
The boys loved the pancakes, and I personally liked the crisp and flavorful bacon.
English Bangers and ✮ Longanisa
Yeah! They serve big cuts of sausage and sweet longanisa. Really good! 🙂
✮ Smoked Salmon, Selection of ✮ Cheeses (Brie, Manchego, Tête de Moine)
Cold Cuts: Copa, Prosciutto, Bresola
I wish they had served this plate in advance. This is best enjoyed with the right wine.
Just the right sweetness and crunch from the piece of honeycomb.
Good for those who just want to have a light, healthy breakfast. The boys loved the yogurt and strawberries.
Surprise Dish of the Chef’s Choice
This was a disappointment…too meaty but no taste. Best to ask what the surprise dish is. Maybe you can request to change it.
We liked our round table near the window with good natural lighting. 🙂
For dessert, a frest fruit platter is always welcome after a heavy assortment of breakfast items.
Sweet Pastries, Bread Pudding, and ✮ Banana Turon with Whipped Cream and Chocolate Sauce Toppings
We almost didn’t touch the pastries anymore, but we loved the Banana Turon shaped like a big samosa.
Overall, we loved CAVIAR‘s ambiance, its good menu, and excellent wine selection. We were pleasantly surprised to see such an elegant restaurant hidden in West Gate.
I personally like the Family Style Brunch even though some of the dishes got mixed reviews, like the Chef’s surprise dish, the Orange Power shot, and the pastries.
Best if you can request to have the cheese, cold cuts, and honey served first. Make sure you order champagne or wine to compliment your breakfast treat.
I love the atmosphere of the place in the morning, which should surely be more romantic at night. 🙂 Service was good but needs some improvement in attentiveness and familiarity with the food.
We will be back, this time in the evening, to try their a la carte dishes.

P.S. Check out Jin’s post on Caviar: Caviar Restaurant and Champagne Bar ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I agree, this is one lovely restaurant.
I’m wondering why they named the restaurant Caviar when the lone Caviar dish on the menu is tucked in the brunch set, and with a hefty supplemental charge to boot. Seems like an afterthought. Looks nice overall though. The black leather chairs look sumptuous.
Checked out Jin’s review, turns out there is indeed a caviar menu! Ok, now I understand lol
I got so excited at the last line, “Family Style Brunch (Minimum of 4 guests) P790 per Person/P60 for Children under 12 years old.” P60 per kid, I said this a steal! Down I came to earth when I clicked the Family Style Brunch link.
