TIPSY PIG: Capitol Commons’ Coolest Hangout! @tipsypig_ph

TIPSY PIG - Our Awesome Planet-1.jpg

Conceptualized by Ton Gonzales, TIPSY PIG is known for its signature brews, extensive drink selection, and good food by Chef Rainier Barbers. The name is inspired by the after effects of alcohol and the food they want to be known for. This is the coolest place to hang out at Capitol Commons in Pasig.

We tried the food as recommended by the Chef and here’s our experience…

Tipsy Pig is located beside Black Olive and across Nomama at the new Capitol Commons lifestyle community developed by Ortigas & Co.

It’s a great place to drink al fresco with friends, especially during the cool weather season.

Inside are long tables designed for big group gatherings with a nice high-ceiling ambiance.

TIP: Make sure to make reservations to get a space on the first floor.

The second floor is open for smaller groups and can also be reserved for private functions.

✮ Salted Caramel Flavored Beers (Regular – P110 +10% service charge).

The signature brews are interesting but this was a bit weird…its like a dessert beer.

✮ Tipsy Wings + Flaming Wings (P295 +10% service charge). Tipsy Wings (Fried wings smothered with our homemade Jack Daniels BBQ Sauce) and The Flaming Wings (Crispy fried wings, overdose with homemade buffalo sauce and Bleu cheese dip).

We ordered the wings since we couldn’t decide what to get. We got the mix of Tipsy and Flaming wings. Love the Tipsy Wings with crunchy skin and sweet BBQ sauce, but we liked it better with the blue cheese sauce of the Flaming Wings.

The Flaming wings were not as hot as I expected them to be and the taste was just OK.

✮ Vineyard Pizza (P470 +10% service charge). Roasted garlic spread, tomato confit, Pancetta, Mozzarella, grapes and fresh Basil.

The vineyard pizza is good. They use thin slices of meat with grapes, basil, and tomato. It’s good while it’s still hot. When it cools down the cookie-type pizza dough hardens a bit.

Rigatoni Pasta with Spicy Shrimp (P260 +10% service charge). Rigatoni, beurre blane, tomato confit, and chili marinated shrimp.

This was just OK. The sauce was too overpowering and it was not really that spicy.

TIPSY PIG - Our Awesome Planet-22.jpg
Beer Can Chicken (P750 +10% service charge). Roasted whole chicken, a can of Pale Pilsen, grilled tortillas, and BBQ sauce.

This gets the best presentation award. I love the roasted chicken cooked with a beer can.

They would provide table-side service to chop the chicken on your table. It’s good pulutan! 🙂

However, the meat of the chicken we got that night was a little bit bland and you can’t taste even a hint of the beer. Maybe an off night for the kitchen.

I love Tipsy Pig’s extensive list of signature brews and alcoholic drinks, their Tipsy Wings, and the Vineyard Pizza. I can see why a lot of people flock to this watering hole…it has a nice hang out ambiance, good drinks and food, and reasonable pricing.

Budget is about P700/person for drinks + food. Best to go in a group with your family or friends to hang out until the wee hours of the morning. It gets crazy packed starting at 10pm.

  1. The “signature” brews taste like that, because they’re three bottles of San Mig Light, with pumps of commercial caramel syrup in them.
I had one, and watched them prepare it in horror.
The food is good, avoid the beer.

  2. Their steak was good too. I also thought the chicken was tops in presentation but disappointing in flavor. Be careful with the menu, the prices were not aligned with the menu item. We were victimized thinking we were ordering something of a certain price but turns out it was more expensive!

  3. the pulled pork pizza was so good. ive never had anything like it. the flavored beers had too much hype though… they were bland,

  4. went there yesterday.. it was my first time be to there, i enjoyed their crispy pizza and salmon pasta. They also have crispy twister. They all tasted good so maybe I’ll go there again.
