WILSON’S is the latest Bed & Breakfast from the owners of Balai Indang and Yoki’s Farm. It’s a 3,000-sqm summer house in Tagaytay converted into a private 13-room B&B with a pool. It is the perfect venue for a family gathering, a mini-celebration with your friends and officemates or just going on a writer’s retreat. For couples wanting to get married in Tagaytay, you can rent the entire place to be the accommodations for the groom and your friends attending the wedding.

WILSON’s is located in the residential community along Maglabe Drive in Tagaytay. It’s formerly known as Bakasyunan Grande before it got converted into a private B&B.

The pool centerpiece and modern architecture contribute to the zen-like feel of the place.

Wilson's-52.jpg
Of course, the water is very cold but it’s still a treat to swim in the pool, especially on a nice, sunny day or after a good round of drinks. 🙂

Wilson's-53.jpg
The pool is guarded by bronze sculptures from the collection of Yoki’s Farm.

Wilson's-48.jpg
The bronze farm animals are popular with the kids, like the Giraffe,

a life-size Moose,

and the Night Owls…

…with their intricate, scary eyes.

Wilson's-42.jpg
There are also statues of children around that seem to invite you to sit down and read your own book, or…

…have a funny photo-op. 🙂

At night, the solemn faces of the animals, the reflective surface of the pool, and light of the moon all get you in a sentimental mood.

The restrooms are clean and well-designed.

The rooms on the second floor are not ideal for families with kids since you need to go up and down the grand staircase.

4 Family Rooms. There are four family rooms at P8,500/night, good for four, dinner and breakfast included. Here are the different configurations of the family rooms:

All of the guests share a spacious common family dining area where all the meals are served.

Wilson's-23.jpg
This is the ideal table. It’s the one closest to the kitchen doors. 🙂

Wilson's-24.jpg
There’s also a common living room area with a grand piano, where families and friends can gather. (It also has free wi-fi. 🙂 )

WILSON’S FOOD:

Wilson's-8.jpg
Wilson’s has the same home-cooked goodness of Balai Indang — no frills, straight-to-the-point cooking, using only rich ingredients, conceptualized by our friend Marge.

Here’s a preview of the meals, with a caveat that the dishes may change based on your preferences and based on what’s freshly available in the market:

5-Course Set Dinner Menu

Wilson's-59.jpg
Salad. The meal usually starts with Smoked Chicken Caesar salad with Fresh Tagaytay Greens and

Wilson's-60.jpg
Soup. Creamy Mushroom soup served with fresh Calamansi juice.

Wilson's-64.jpg
Appetizer. Then, the appetizer is Asian Hot Buffalo wings served with creamy yogurt dip.

Wilson's-65.jpg
Main Dish. For the main dish, there’s Grilled Pork Chop with apple peach sauce served with…

Wilson's-67.jpg
…Tex Mex Rice.

Wilson's-80.jpg
Note: You have to specify if you want fish as your main dish instead.

Wilson's-68.jpg
Dessert. To end the meal, Apple Crumble with Ice Cream is served.

Wilson's-89.jpg
Bonus. If you are nice and lucky, she might serve a bonus of Chorizo Pasta. 🙂

Breakfast Fare @ Wilson’s

Wilson's-75.jpg
Breakfast starts with Fresh Fruits with Yogurt and Feta cheese.

Wilson's-74.jpg
Also served are Mini-Sandwiches,

Wilson's-73.jpg
Longganisa or Tapa (please specify in advance) with Fried Eggs,

Wilson's-76.jpg
Daing na Bangus with Ensalada and Sinangag.

Breakfast also comes with a serving of Coffee or Hot Chocolate.

Lunch Options?

Wilson's-79.jpg
They can serve lunch on a pre-booking basis at P700 per head additional.

Wilson's-82.jpg
TIP: For kids, you can request these Cereal Prawn Balls, a regular Balai Indang favorite. 🙂

Wilson's-94.jpg
We enjoyed the home-cooked, no-worries comfort food throughout our stay at Wilson’s.

Best of all, they allow you to bring your own wine and booze with no corkage fee. 🙂

Wilson's-45.jpg
Overall, I love the tranquility of the place, the delicious dinner, and the bed and breakfast package. Budget P2,750 per person for overnight stay.

Some of the rooms have quirky designs, so make sure to reserve your preferred color scheme/ design in advance. The restrooms are nice but the quality of the bed and beddings can be improved.

Food is simple home-cooked comfort food, Balai Indang-style. Bring your own booze. 🙂 I would suggest that you have your lunch outside at Tootsie’s or Breakfast at Antonio’s. If you are staying for a couple of days, make sure to request your preferences.

  1. Looks interesting. I love Balai Indang and their food. Especially the salads. Iba talaga lasa ng freshly harvested greens. I wonder how this will affect Balai Indang’s sales? So much accessible itong Wilson’s.

  2. Wow! This place is beautiful and looks very relaxing. Will seriously consider checking this place out soon. :)Another great post you made here, Sir Anton! 🙂

  3. I agree with searose….room decor leaves a lot to be desired and with wires hanging out from TV’s. Competition is quite fierce for places to stay in Tagaytay & I don’t think this one will make the cut, in the long run. Sorry.

  4. Me and wifey are here now in wilson’s. May I say that of all your recommendations, this tops the list in price, ambiance, FOOD, and overall satisfaction!!! Thanks to Marge and christie for the wonferul time.

  5. We had our team building here recently and we had the best time ever! Thanks to Marge and her able and friendly staff Cristy, etc. we shall return definitely! Thanks Wilson’s and Anton for suggesting this wonderful retreat from the city 🙂

  6. gud day i would like to inform to all of us if you know michael rigor bautista one of security guard from alfonso cavity he have bad record here and cases here in central azucarera in nasugbu batangas ( kasabwat sa pag nanakaw) pls. contact me on my number 092796100873 o mag sadya sa aming opisina d2 sa central … baka po kayo ay mabiktima rin kagaya namin maraming salamat po

  7. The first few photos blew my heart away and got excited about the place. Spacious, nice pool, classy sculptures plus the black and white color palette added to its charm! However, the rooms are a deal breaker. I can’t take the color schemes, quality and color of bed covers, curtains and furnishings. I strongly advise that they tone it down a bit and check with magazines on how they can revamp the place (if they don’t want to get and ID). It’s a very nice box to fix. I also hope those mattresses are not foam but spring bed mattresses. That’s important in B&B businesses. I also can’t get the theme of the common areas but some furnishings are nice.
The place is promising, a little fix may bring the entire place to “a get-away, home away from home” level.
