The District was the perfect backdrop for our family escapade in Boracay. We love it because it is centrally located along the white beach, walking distance to yummy restaurants, and provides a happy family-friendly service.

GETTING TO THE DISTRICT
The fastest way to Boracay is by air. You can fly via AirPhil Express, Cebu Pacific, Seair or Zest Air, which would take approximately 60 minutes or less from Manila. Although you have the option of arriving at the airport in Kalibo, the Godofredo P. Ramos Boracay Airport (popularly known as Caticlan Airport) is the quicker option.
The Boracay Airport is upgraded already. It’s clean and features an efficient bag conveyor. There’s a clean restroom you can use before you go to the island. Don’t forget to register as tourists before leaving the airport.
If you fly via Caticlan, you can ride a tricycle (P50) or a van (P300) to transfer you to the Caticlan Jetty Port, which is just 10 minutes away.
Fortunately, the standard rates of The District already include roundtrip transfers to Caticlan Port.
Usually, you have to pay P600 to charter your own boat, or you can ride the public boat transfers for P25/head. You also have to pay P100 for the Caticlan Terminal Fee (6 years old and below are free) and Environmental Fee of P75 (11 years old and below are free).
Note: The District uses a third party-chartered boat service.
Upon arriving at Cagban Port on Boracay Island, you can hire a tricycle for P100, an Avanza car (above) for P350 or Hi-Ace for P500 to bring you to the resort.
The District already has its own private shuttle to bring you to the resort, which is located in Boat Station 2.
WELCOME TO THE DISTRICT, BORACAY
The car transfer service will drop you off at the back road of Station 2. From there, it’s a nice leisurely walk along the white beach to the hotel.
The District is strategically located along the beach in between Station 1 boundary and D’Mall in Station 2, which is in the middle of the action in Boracay’s White Beach.

We stayed in the loft-type Premier Suite. It has minimalist settings and is located on the top floor of the resort.
The welcome basket is simple with fresh fruits — Bananas, Mangoes, Apple and Oranges.
Having a loft-type room is good and bad for the kids. Our boys loved to go up and down the stairs to the bedroom — and we always worried that syoti Raphael might slip and fall down.
We loved the soft bed with nice pillows and TV option in the upper area.
Kids 10 years old and below are free on accommodation as long as they share the bed with the parents. But Breakfast and Transfers will be charged separately, depending on the child’s age.
The comfort room is separate from the shower room. The shower room is quite spacious and can fit 1 adult and 3 boys.
They use simple Eco-Fresh toiletries, which are great for the beach weather in Boracay.
For me, one of the best features of the room is the veranda where you can privately dry your clothes and have an alfresco hangout.
If you can, get a room on the top floor to get a side-top view of the property.
The top floor is good for privacy, but if you have smaller kids, I would suggest getting the ground floor rooms facing the pool.

You can also request to book the rooms at the back for more privacy.
The pool is quite cold and perfect for a hot summer day. For the kids, they have a square wading pool.
It’s open from 7.00am until 10.00pm with a pool attendant, inflatables, and — best of all — life jackets for the kids.
The District is conveniently located on the beach front, so you can just step out of the resort and immediately enjoy the famed white beach of Boracay.
You can sunbathe and read a book.
In the morning, you can jog from one end of the island to the other while barefoot.
Best of all, the kids can enjoy the shallow waters near the shore. If they get bored, they can go back to the wading pool and then back again to the beach. Usually, it’s the parents who would give up. 🙂

BREAKFAST @ THE DISTRICT
Breakfast is served at Vigan Grill on the 2nd floor, offering a continental breakfast buffet from 6.30am to 10.30am. The Vigan Grill breakfast is P550/adult or P275 kid’s rate.
The breakfast is simple and just OK. I liked the Filipino breakfast selection with Daing and Vigan Longganisa.
The best part of breakfast at The District is the awesome morning view!
Make sure to wake up early and reserve the alfresco tables in the veranda overlooking the beach.
The view is very relaxing. This is how I always imagined it would feel like waking up on Boracay Island.
BREAKFAST PLACE SUGGESTIONS
Vigan Grill is convenient for breakfast but, frankly, there are better breakfast places near the District:
REAL COFFEE CAFE Boracay Breakfast
Real Coffee is walking distance from the resort, on the right side of The District. Our Boracay experience is never complete without eating Chori Burger, drinking Jonah’s Shakes, and enjoying Real Coffee’s Calamansi Muffins.
TIP: Order the Calamansi Muffins in advance if you want to bring home a box as pasalubong.

iLemon Cafe, D’Mall in Boracay
On other days, you can decide to have breakfast in iLemon Cafe in D’Mall, which is located on the left side of The District.

CAFE DEL MAR Breakfast in Boracay
Since a lot of restaurants open late in Boracay (around 11am onwards), there are limited options for Breakfast or Brunch. Also near The District is Cafe del Mar where you can have a simple set menu breakfast on the beach. 🙂

LUNCH SUGGESTIONS NEAR THE DISTRICT
The District’s Vigan Grill only provides lunch for big groups upon request. Here are some recommended restaurants near The District:
For lunch, you can check out the EPIC gourmet meals of Chef Carlos Miguel. We love the paella, the Epic burger, and — for an indulgent treat — the Epic Sundae. 🙂

OJ’s Bake, Roast & Grill + Beach Bar Hut
For simple comfort food (think: yummy Baby Back Ribs, Pasta and Pastries), go to OJ’s. It’s a casual place where you can eat even if you come directly from the beach.
(TIP: For the kids, don’t forget to order Beach Bar’s fresh fruit smoothies in take-home yard glasses.)

THE DISTRICT BORACAY SUNSET VIEW
Another awesome feature of The District is the roofdeck Star Lounge where you can enjoy the lovely sunset view while sipping on cocktails.
Sunset Happy Hour at The District is from 5.00pm to 7.00pm, when all cocktails and local beers are 40% off. They also serve dinner from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.
Make sure to go and enjoy the Sunset Paraw-sailing. The boarding area is very near The District.

Make sure to allot one night to dine in Cafe Caruso in The District and then Ti Braz for dessert! 🙂
CAFE CARUSO Ristorante Italiano in Boracay
Treat yourself to a romantic Italian dinner of oven-baked pizza, really good pasta, and other Italian food specialities from the Boracay branch of Cafe Caruso in The District.
The food is consistently good, although the background music is a bit “oldie” and does not match the Boracay ambiance.

We loved our stay at The District because of its great location — White Beach beachfront and surrounded by the yummy restaurants of Boracay. It’s wonderful that they have a warm and family-friendly Filipino staff, and feature kid-friendly amenities created with the kids’ maximum enjoyment in mind.

The District Children’s Policy
- Children 2-5 years old are free of charge on accommodation (as long as sharing bed with parents) and breakfast. Transfers to/from Caticlan shall be charged PhP 500 nett, inclusive of all applicable fees
- Children 6-10 years old are free of charge on accommodation (as long as sharing bed with parents). Breakfast and transfers (to/from Caticlan) shall be charged PhP 900 nett per child per night
- Children 10 years old and below requiring extra bed shall be charged PhP 1,900 nett per child per night. Rate is already inclusive of breakfast and transfers (to/from Caticlan)
- Maximum of 2 children are entitled to free accommodation per room; extra child shall be charged accordingly
- Children 11 years old and above are considered adults and shall be charged with extra person rate

You can get a ride in an air-conditioned van just outside the Caticlan Jetty Port for P100/seat. We occupied the front seats with the boys and paid P300. The ride took around 2 hours.

For me, I just don’t like how closed off the courtyard feels due to the dining building at the beachfront.
