BREAKFAST at ANTONIO’S: Welcoming 2013 with a Yummy Bang along the Ridge!

Kicking off 2013 with a yummy Breakfast at Antonio's in Tagaytay! Happy New year :)

BREAKFAST at ANTONIO’S is now back where it all started at the Tagaytay Ridge with an unobstructed view of the Taal Volcano.

We love the much- improved Antonio’s Breakfast with a more focused menu for All-Day breakfast dining 7 days a week.  They now make their own bread, jams, pates and deli-meat in-house.

The ambiance is elegant black-and-white motif, with natural air conditioning from the Tagaytay breeze, and a stunning view of the Taal Lake as backdrop. I love the way nature is integrated into the design of our new breakfast favorite in Tagaytay.

Here are some tips to have an awesome Breakfast at Antonio’s experience:

What’s new in Tagaytay in 2013 Series:

Breakfast at Antonio's-1.jpg
Breakfast at Antonio’s is now open for breakfast as early as 7am and they don’t accept reservations.

The color motif is elegant black & white.

Breakfast at Antonio's-2.jpg
They now have a small bake shop corner for takeouts and pasalubong.

Breakfast at Antonio's-9.jpg
The most coveted tables are the ones beside the window…

… overlooking a stunning sunrise view of the Taal lake and volcano.

Breakfast at Antonio's-57.jpg
The outdoor bar setup is still a work in progress.

Breakfast at Antonio's-5.jpg
They have almost all the breakfast items you are craving for with an extensive beverage lineup.

BREAKFAST FAVORITES:

Breakfast at Antonio's-23.jpg
Golden Waffle (P180 +10% service charge).

The golden waffle  was cooked just right,

Breakfast at Antonio's-33.jpg
… served with enough butter and maple syrup.

Breakfast at Antonio's-36.jpg
★ Bacon N’ Egg Hash Pancake (P210 +10% service charge)

If you want value for money, order the pancake served with crispy bacon with eggs and hash brown.

Breakfast at Antonio's-53.jpg
It was a pleasant surprise to see the 2 pieces of pancakes served with caramelized pineapple & banana.

Breakfast at Antonio's-40.jpg
★ French Toast Walnut Turkish (P295 +10% service charge). Turkish Bread Dipped in Vanilla Cream & Cinnamon Egg, Butter, Served with Syrup & Hot Apple Compote.

Another favorite is Antonio’s version of the French Toast using Turkish Bread.

Breakfast at Antonio's-42.jpg
★ Hot Chocolate Grande (P130 +10% service charge) with Picatostes (add P70)

They use Felchlin Swiss Chocolate for their Hot Chocolate and  served extra thick and yummy.

We ordered the Picatostes, a turn-off, as  it was a bit oily because of the butter and it was fried. It would have been better if they toasted it just right to be dipped in the chocolate.

Breakfast at Antonio's-38.jpg
Brewed Coffee Refillable (P180 +10% service charge)

The brewed coffee is expensive if you will drink only one cup.

HEALTHY BREAKFAST:

Breakfast at Antonio's-31.jpg
Muesli (P310 +10% service charge) with Tropical Fruits & Nuts, Sweetened with Honey & House Yogurt

For healthy eaters, try Antonio’s Muesli version.

Breakfast at Antonio's-47.jpg
★ Homemade Yogurt topped with Lemon Curd (P95 +10% service charge). Other topping options are Passion Fruit or Calamansi preserve

My personal favorite is their home- made yogurt with the sweet tangy topping.

Breakfast at Antonio's-16.jpg
TWG Tea Selections (P140 +10% service charge).

You can indulge on high-end selection of TWG Teas.

RICE BREAKFAST & ALL DAY SANDWICHES:

Breakfast at Antonio's-46.jpg
★ Reuben Sandwich with Swiss Cheese & Russian Dressing (P365 +10% service charge).

Since Antonio’s bakes their own bread and prepares their own deli meat in house, this Reuben Sandwich is yummier to eat than how it looks.

Breakfast at Antonio's-28.jpg
★ Daing na Gindara (P475 +10% service charge) served with 2 eggs done anyway you want with Garlic Rice & Baked Beans.

It’s the first time I’ve seen a Daing Gindara and it was so yummy and healthy that this is now my new breakfast favorite in 2013. Although some said it was a bit salty.

Breakfast at Antonio's-25.jpg
Beef Tapa (P390 +10% service charge) served with 2 eggs done anyway you want with Garlic Rice & Baked Beans.

The beef tapa was now a lot better — it was marinated just right and they used a good quality beef.

(Look at the old Tapsilog version)

Breakfast at Antonio's-30.jpg
★ Fresh Corned Beef (P400 +10% service charge) served with 2 eggs done anyway you want with Garlic Rice & Baked Beans.

This is another breakfast favorite because it’s super tender, yummy and a good value because of its huge serving. Better order extra rice. You can order a sauteed version of this corned beef.

Breakfast at Antonio's-49.jpg
We ate breakfast around 7.30am to make sure we sat near the windows which is a more private spot and a with great view of Taal.

Don’t forget to sign their guestbook and see what Aidan drew on the Jan. 1, 2013 page.

Don’t forget to buy pasalubong for your loved ones. Here are some suggestions:

Freshly baked breads

Breakfast at Antonio's-12.jpg
All-Natural Calamansi Curd

Breakfast at Antonio's-60.jpg
Felchlin Swiss Chocolate in tablet, bar or powder form.

Overall, we love the all new Breakfast at Antonio’s because of its extensive breakfast selection, overall good value and an elegant breakfast ambiance. We were 7 in the group (including the kids) and we paid about P538/head. Don’t miss this when you plan your next visit to Tagaytay 🙂

breakfast-at-antonio's

Once you reached the Tagaytay Roundabout, exit via Majarlika Highway leading to Batangas.

Drive past the Taal Vista Hotel and Casino Filipino.

Once you enter Tagaytay City proper, go straight ahead past the Mendez Crossing, marketd by a Total Gas Station and Mercury Drug on the corner.

Continue ahead, past Bag of Beans.

When you see the large radar antennas on the left side, look for the Breakfast at Antonio’s sign on the right side of the road.

Don’t turn from the marked corner, because you will go to the original Antonio’s resto in Brgy. Neogan.

Continue ahead along Majarlika Avenue, and you should see Breakfast at Antonio’s on your left facing the Taal Lake.

  1. I had waffle at the temporary Breakfast place. It was good nga. The new place was closed last month when we passed by it.

  2. Greetings! May I recommend adding Taal, Batangas Heritage Town to your 2013 adventures! It is a cornerstone of Filipino history & identity and is the Balisong & Barong Tagalog Capital of the Philippines!
If any travelers plan on going to Tagaytay, I highly recommend checking out Taal, it’s neighboring town. Check out why: taal.ph

  3. I’d go for that Taal tour 🙂 I passed by Taal one time and I saw all the preserved Filipiniana houses 🙂 I’m glad that the families and the local government fought for its preservation and even had the houses protected by NHI decrees. Plus of course the St. Martin of Tours Basilica.
This is the same town where the 7-11 is integrated well into the overall theme of the infrastructure, right 🙂 ?

  4. Nice ambiance and services, very clean restroom. But… the food is terribly salty! too much MSG or iodized salt from omellet, sandwiches & meat that we order we don’t taste tha natural flavor. Antonios breakfast is overrated. We will never go back again! For me Uncle Cheffy & Pancake house much better resto & they serves with generous plate.
